  2. Way-hey ! congratulations Chris
  3. its been bad Pat, cant remember snow being this deep since I was a wean, about 2 foot deep, -14 last night, -11 all day, abandoned cars everywhere, people spending the night on motorways and A roads and petrol stations and supermarkets like bare knuckle pikey pits av had to change out of ma kilt and drink Bovril FFS
  4. But yooz have goat hair on the soles of yer feet ! Aye and lambs wool up yer shins
  5. thats cruel and heartless Kev-most of us Jocks have been stuck at home cringing at daft Jocks who go on the Jeremy Kyle show, eating mince pies bought for Christmas and scrapping over loaves of bread and milk at the supermarkets
  6. Whats the weather report like down your way SirPat ? the icicles are splitting the trees here
  7. Check the earth connections and the connection to the starter motor also, oh and try rocking it back and forward-it sounds like the clutch is stuck-did you leave it in gear?, is the neutral light on, and lastly-sit on it-flick the stand up and try it while holding the brake on-else ye might land in the garden
  8. Jeez m8 thats a hard lesson, got to say though you've done a decent job on the clean up on the last 2 pics
  9. Yep the cold will not help, bring it into the house to warm up
  10. As your bike has sat for a while the brake pots will have allowed the pads to settle against the disc-just take it for a run (be gentle with the braking) and it will ease off-thats after you've charged the battery or replaced it if its fecked
  11. Its oil cooled so no it wont be frozen-more likely one of the safety switches i.e. kill switch or side stand switch, if your getting good dash lights then the battery is good enough to light bulbs, it might not be good enough to turn the starter, more description on sounds, lights fading etc-you shouldn't be on in this weather anyway-are you mentally mad ?
  12. Ok I see it now (must get to specsavers) its on the 'off-side' of the bike, I think what you might have seen in the DIY shops Gazampa is this http://www.screwfix.com/prods/77320/Fixings/Furniture-Fixings/Cross-Dowel-M6-x-14mm-Pack-of-50 it looks similair, like OG said its a 'clevis pin' this should be a generic part, I wouldn't do the DIY thang HTH
  13. , I must be missing something here, I dont see anything un-numbered on that drawing in the vicinity of 27 and 28 ?
  14. Take note of what JimR has to say cos he knows what he's 'TOKNABOOT' , great suggestion tho from Neversaydie--a ball valve --that will give you infinate adjustment on flow-but like JimR says there are a lot more things to consider
  15. I heard that on the radio Vez, dunno how truckers are gonna feel about this, I suppose if its paid as overtime-but will it, the government moving the bloody goalposts when it suits them
