General Tune-up and service
Hi Jordan and welcome to the 'ward' (dunno if you did an intro before ?) anyhoo, on your days off have a wander around garage and lock-up sites listening for 'revving noises' or 'swearing' -this should lead to 'an oily jumper guy' , make friends by offering to wire brush and autosol his boxes of nuts, bolts and washers, keep this going for a couple of weekends-then tell him your tale of woe NEVER offer to take his jumper home for your Mum to wash HTH

XJ6 Diversion. D.B Screen to reduce noise?
Hi Kayley and welcome to 'the ward' , there is a miriad of opinion on screens for the divvy, you can buy daft** 'deflectors' that screw onto the top of the screen-these throw the airstream over your head (once adjusted properly), touring screens are much taller than the stock ones and would be a better option-look out for them on flea bay (beside the hens teeth) I say daft because of the 'daft money' price tag-butt I've heard they work !, Gas-up-letgo might have a link ? The XJs little niggles...
Hey Maverick like the new banner, the XJ, get a local garage or bike nut to balance your carbs, for all the use you will get out of guages and adaptors, these will hang in the hut/garage getting rusty, you will notice a big difference after a balance, i.e. response, vibrations, fuel economy, my bike (the old girl) still pushes vibes through my bars 2500-3500rpm, this moves to my right peg at 5500rpm-its the nature of the beast after you've spent £30 getting the local oily jumper guy to balance your carbs-save a further £30 and get your valve shims checked in the spring

How many miles is on it Mr Creosote (put your real name in this is too much to type) ?, yep Busters are one to trust, but they are stockists/agents so they are getting their stuff from someone else and adding a mark-up, thats beside the point, if the bike is in good nick otherwise then it would be a good investment to spend £160 to have new forks stantions-its a lot of dosh but this bike will just go on and on if looked after, or you could bide your time and wait for flea-bay to chuck something your way
