Sorry to pee on yer chips mate but that is in the most part complete and utter bollox. If you go into the inters group and are holding up the genuine inters you will be put down into the novice group anyway. From what I have seen on my trackdays, if you are in the novice group and are considered good/quick/safe enough to be in Inters you will be asked if you would move up. I would recommend that you put in for novice on your very first outing, and if you feel on the day after your first session or two that you have picked the wrong group for your ability, talk to the organisers and see if they can move you into a different group.

Hi All, Got an email reminder thing the other day so thought I'd pop along and say "hello". I forgot that I'd registered here way back in the dim and distant Still got my FZR, but I've made it into my track bike now. Got a CBR400 for the roads now (Oh the shame of it!!! :lol: ) Well, nice to meet you all, and I'll try not to be so forgetful in the future LOL! Loz x
