Know what you mean. DT is very comfy when compared with a Thundercat. At least you can howl past any car that pisses you now

Hi mate, It's done 23,000 and I'm afraid I don't know the history of it. If this is not normal for a T'cat I'll look at popping some new plates in but if they're all like it I'll live with it. Thanks for replying Dude

Lincolnshire echo today reports a car driver doing 130mph on the dual carriageway. http://www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk/news/1...il/article.html He pleaded guilty and has been banned from driving for 15 months, as well as fined £450 plus £400 costs. IF HE WAS ON A BIKE HE'D'VE BEEN SENT TO JAIL!

Hi all, do any other Thundercat owners bikes suffer from clutch lock? Mine is a standard 1998 model and when I try to set off, revving above 5000rpm slipping the clutch, it just makes a nasty noise and grabs/locks. It's not a problem really, just wanna cane it away from the lights occasionally So if anyone knows of a cost effective cure please let me know

I'm having terrible trouble reading the forum for weeks now it has taken ages for the page to load - if at all. This is first post since forum has moved to new servers I think. So I'm gonna make it a long one! How you getting on with the Oxford Grips OG?! I've fitted some to my T'cat and well - Awesome is all I can say. I was on A57 (two weekends ago) from Sheff when silencer clamp bolt fell off and silencer twisted round and stuck out a mile (grounding on right handers). Shit myself. After my Brother rescued me I nearly drowned going through deep water near Bamford (Water coursing off the hills from the melting snow). Shit myself again. Was great though, looked cold but my hands were warm! Anyway it's good to be able to read the forum. . . for today at least.

Mmm, just found a picture of the 750 forks and they are the upside down variety, your right I'd need the wheel, brakes etc. Bugger. Would be Happier with standard setup minus the rust. Think mine will be ok this summer, lay it up for a winter re vamp. Just have to keep an eye on it.

Hi all, looking at fork stanchions on M&P I noticed the nearest fork tubes they list for my Thundercat is some for a YZF 750 will these do? Has anyone ever bought aftermarket stanchions for a Thundercat? If so where joo get um? I know I could get mine ground and re chromed but I'd prefer new stanchions from M&P. . . If they do em for a yzf 600 r Thundercat. . .

Cheers Steve. Washing in all the nooks and crannys today (never got it so mucky as today) has revealed pitts of rust on forks, just above where the seal marks go to...

I was well informed that you should never accept an insurance companys first offer. Had a Hodna XL 125 nicked and got the full amount I paid for it 12 months prior to theft after refusing first £750 offer. Similar when old Hodna Prelude written off, got full amount after refusing first laughable offer.

Think I might paint it black, next winter. . . Now I've seen what a proper yellow bike should look like!

When someone burns your new £250 winter jacket it's serious. I'd want £250 out of the culprits wallet + them getting fined for criminal damage and or littering, not them hospitalising, how can they pay if they off work!!

Preaching to the converted? Was thinking of educating young cage drivers (as they seem mainly responsable for McDee's waste + fag ends being ejected) not the good folk who read this forum. Most young un's would be very easy to get the better of, just think it's a job for the proper authorities. Spose it's just the way I was brought up. I was told two wrongs don't make a right. If someone is dickhead to you and you respond in kind that makes you a dickhead too etc.

Being long on welding and short of money. . . anyone got any drawings for paddock stands?
  23. Rich_B replied to Kirkie's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
Yes, Get the back wheel in the air (Paddock stand/Main stand)

DON'T lubricate brake disc!!!!!! I'm not joking, some bastard told my young son the cure for his squeeky brake was oiling the disc, he had no idea and no brakes after that. The rust will come off when you use it, or you rub it down wi emery paper. Soak chain in Parafin or Diesel overnight, then clean with a stiff brush checking the links as you go. Put proper chain lube on it.
  25. Hi All, got my bike back today , and must say how fantastic Webbs of Lincoln have been - Very helpfull and I couldn't believe the bill was so cheap only charged me £90 for collecting bike (28 miles), replacing fuel pump, cleaning carbs out, balancing etc and test riding it, awesome, really awesome . Anyway, back on topic tyson, The Thundercat runs cool, the Yamaha mechanic said in the summer when people are queing to leave race meets etc you hear the fans of other bikes well before the Thundercat which has a large radiator and excellent cooling. Madison is correct (not that I ever doubted yer mate) the mechanic at Webbs pretty much echoed what he said. If anything yours would appear to be reading falesly a little on the high side, since your fans not kicking in.
