Are you talking a standard OE R6 end can? Headers will not fit but the can may do.
  2. I had exactly the same symptoms on the Thunderace. Turned out to be a knackered speedo drive in the front wheel hub. Which reminds me, I still have to fit it (three months later lol).

My bad, I looked at mine before I posted. Mine has a bolt on race system. Doh!
  4. I suppose it could always be perished carb mounting rubbers (the bits that hold the carbs on to the block).

If you have a standard OE can, it will be a bolt on affair with three bolts. If aftermarket, it may also be bolt on but it may also be slip on, in which case there should be a telltale sign of two springs holding it together. The link pipe O/D, if memory serves me correctly, is about 54-58mm. Not having one in the workshop at the moment, I cannot double check.

Repeat after me: "I will not use petrol to clean my chain because it will destroy the O/X rings" "I will not use petrol to clean my chain because it will destroy the O/X rings" "I will not use petrol to clean my chain because it will destroy the O/X rings" "I will not use petrol to clean my chain because it will destroy the O/X rings" "I will not use petrol to clean my chain because it will destroy the O/X rings" "I will not use petrol to clean my chain because it will destroy the O/X rings" "I will not use petrol to clean my chain because it will destroy the O/X rings" "I will not use petrol to clean my chain because it will destroy the O/X rings" "I will not use petrol to clean my chain because it will destroy the O/X rings" "I will not use petrol to clean my chain because it will destroy the O/X rings" Petrol will eat away at the rubber O rings (or X rings) and cause a grease leakage. This will dry out your chain and potentially cause it to snap (to put it simply without going in to great detail).

They are both J06Es so, apart from the actual immobiliser coding, they will be identical bikes.
  8. Do you have the VIN number (located on the headstock)?
  9. Madison Motorsport replied to compmoto's post in a topic in Naked
Take the frame number from the headstock and let us know what it is.

You're not having much luck ATM matey. Maybe the insulation has broken down in the HT lead. Have you tried a new lead? BTW, I'll get some pics sorted tomorrow
  11. Sounds like your tank has either started to rot from the inside, or the gasket on the fuel tap wants replacing.

No point at all. Why? because where you would have to drill, there will be so little air flow, you will not notice a difference. You would be better off switching to forced induction if you want to go down that route.

I would recommend stripping the drum down. Chances are the shoes have seized onto the drum itself. It would be well worth investing in a drum brake refurb kit first along with new shoes.
  14. Really helpful response OG Personally, I would suggest checking all of the electrical terminal connections for any water ingress, including the back of the clocks.

Not all stainless steel is the same. There are so many different grades. You can get magnetic or non-magnetic, so using a magnet will not help you much. As for tarnishing, if you are only getting it on one cylinder, it would appear you have one cylinder running hotter than the rest. Maybe your mixtures need attention, which on FI is impossible without re-mapping.
  16. Did you use a locking pin to hold the forks in the compressed position? If so, have you removed it?
  17. I would disconnect the battery completely as a surge may blow your main fuse.
  18. Scorpion If money is tight, try looking at Fuel.

The SR250 is a lovely bike to ride Because they have been around as long as the CB, you will be able to find one to fit your budget.
  20. Sorry, my bad. Didn't mean to put speedo down. At my age it's easy to get distracted (I was on the phone to a customer at the time talking about a similar issue with another bike). If I remember correctly, the axle spindles are a different diameter so you will need a spindle from the 4JH.
  21. If you have an automatic charger (one tha selects the charge rate by itself) you should be fine as long as the battery is not connected to the snow mobile. If your charger is manual, put it on the lowest charge rate setting and leave it over night.
  22. Winzer Wurth Dry Chain Lube or SDOC White Chain Wax. Both German brands and he best out there
  23. Skoda Superbs in black and Subaru Imprezas in full WRC kit in Brum last time I was up there
  24. I've never come across Angel Eyes for bikes in the UK.
