I'm a knucklehead, sorry about that ... I didn't even put the prefix I have in the OP... it's a 3JD. '89 YZ125 ...I'm gonna break it down, it's not worth restoring, plus I have way too many projects ongoing ,to start another...This bike does have a nice FMF pipe on it, though. Fits 89-90 125 etc. drinkin too many Canadian brews, is baaaddd

I am in need of front wheel for a 09 FZ6R. There aren't many of these bikes around, apparently , and I'm having some trouble finding a straight replacement. Is there another model that fits it ? The embossed code is: "JY2" ... why does Yamaha think it needs to make so many models of 600cc bikes? R6/S, R6, FZ6, FZ6R,etc. ? Really ? So many, so slightly diff from one another ...Does anyone know of a reputable wheelsmith here in the states ? Thanx for your invaluable insight !

I couldn't post this in the "wanted" section... but an associate of mine claims interest in vintage racing. I feel somewhat obligated to help promote roadracing of any kind. I need alot more parts for the 400 I am building now , and won't have enough to build another bike for this guy, so I figure I should just try to find another complete bike, maybe even running?? A track bike ? East coast US, would make it even more feasible...Thanx!

Brother Madison, that is great info! Thanx a million! I'm picking the '03 model bike up tomorow AM.If anyone needs any parts from this '03 R6 , do let me know. I need a few electrical items, to get my '04 bike running so I can then list it on Ebay, as a clear title builder/or racebike. The 03 bike is going to have to broken down for parts, as the insurance company required it to be branded as "un-rebuildable", so the title is dead. The '03 bike will be in "exploded view" by Monday 2/1...

I bought a '04 R6? over a month ago, and it didn't have the CDI.To get it running, I need to ID what I have, to see if another bike that has been offered to me will be a good parts donor.I have both VINs, but don't know which digits denote the specific model ID I'm looking for ...to clarify, the bike I bought is missing everything. It's a roller with the motor, intake, airbox, and electrical harness(minus CDI). The other bike is a '03 R6 (says so on the bodywork) but has been hit in the front. For the record, mine has clear title, the '03 bike is "Bill of sale" for parts only.I'd like to use it to get mine running , before I decide what next step to take with it...my Yammy dealer is closed today, they must have enough money ...

I found both side plates for a '74 MX 250, but I doubt they work on a '77 YZ 250. $40.each.Anybody need them?

this past season, there were races at Budds, and a track W.Va.,but I'll need to get into the vintage mx scene better than now, if I'm gonna pursue any racing. It'd be for fun , nothing more.Maybe I'll get that lifelong, elusive "trophy"!!I'm getting closer to the end, than I am to the beginning!

thanx, you 2 ! that's good info! I understand completely. Folks, please keep an eye out for the side plates for the '77 YZ 250, I'm hoping to have it ready by March '09. I don't have a motor to reassemble on that one, it's complete, with great compression, on the original piston/rings/bore.In other words,I have little excuse to NOT have it done,ASAP.

I know the DT 360 is 446, I'm thinking MX 360 is a 364, but I've been wrong before...that bike also has the fuel tank with a mounting stud up thru the tank body center, is this correct? Is Speed and Sport the only option for old NOS for Yammy? I need side plates, fenders, and replacement seat covers for '77 YZ 250 D and '79 YZ 125 F. I will be @ PVR swap meet 1/25/09 in York,PA. Could someone meet me there with these parts? I'll even pay for them... if not, anyone know where I might find these ?
