Er, um, MZ owner looking for some help.
is there a number stamped on the bearing that you can source that way? or are you trying to trace one through a part number? i know that bearings can be a balls to locate, i rebuilt a gearbox in a suzuki baleno and could source all the bearings except 2, these two i had to get on order from suzuki and they were dearer than all the rest put together.

chain juming
you say the back wheel is set straight with the markings, is there maybe a spacer missing from the front sprocket that will cause it to be out of line? if the bike has done this since you have had it then maybe whoever fitted the last chain and sprocket left it out which means that you have put back together the same way? do you have a workshop manual that may show a diagram? if not try searching for a parts list on the web that may show it.

did you buy the chain and sprocket as a kit? what i mean is the chain links the correct size for the sprocket i.e. correct pitch, width? that said if it was doing it before they were renewed there may be a problem elsewhere. is there any play on the sprocket shaft at the engine?

feckin' boy racers
was out a run today and was sitting in a line of moving traffic at about 50-55 when this plukey-faced arsehole in a corrolla passed out the line of traffic,3 or 4 cars and myself over double white line on a bend!!!! the wee fecker then pulled into a garage about 500 yards down the road to wave at the other tit that he was racing. i pulled up next to him in the garage and gave him a mouthful, told him i was an off-duty traffic cop(hee-hee) and i would pass on his details to the local cops who would be up to visit him during the course of the mouthful he admited that he only had a provisional to which i told him that as that was the case they would lift the car and crush it as his insurance is void (no L plates and only him in the car) the smell of him shitting himself is good enough for me poor wee twat was nearly in tears

check that the wheel is aligned properly using the markings. also check that when you had the wheel off to change the sprockets that the spacers are on the proper sides. good luck

Fork oil leak
you may find that the springs are interchangeable with other yamaha models, there is a wealth of knowledge on this forum so somebody may know. check the length first and flush out the forks to get any shit out.
-
Fork oil leak
if the forks are not pitted or bent i would not bother ordering new ones ($$$$) just go with the new seals. i would look at why they are not bouncing back, do they feel tight? when you have them off check the springs for length and any damage. good luck

Sleeping beauty or dead duck? Prospective Thundercat buyer's questions
it could all be sorted out at home the only thing is the bores, the problem with them is you cant see them without stripping the engine. if the forks only have very light surface rust then a rub with very fine wet+dry paper and a coat of WD40. the carbs can be stripped but unless you have done it before or feel confident you can do it get someone to do it, they can be awkward and have to be set up properly. take someone with a good knowledge of bikes with you next time you look at her. i still do this even with 25+ years of bikes (4 eyes see more than 2) the thing to remember is price of bike + cost of fixing + time involved

Sleeping beauty or dead duck? Prospective Thundercat buyer's questions
pitted forks and hardend seals, bunged up carbs full of old petrol, rust on the inside of the tank, new battery, the biggest problem could be rust in the bores if its been lying outside in the damp (even though it was covered). even though it may look mint and have low miles you are looking at a project that may cost more than its worth, not to mention the time. when was it last running?

Letter bombs
paddy and mick were walking down the road one day when a bomb went of in the pub next to them. a head came rolling down the street and paddy said to mick "jesus, is that not our pal fergus"? mick took a look at the head and said "naw, sure fergus is taller than that"!

blown CDI box
hi folks looking for help on my son-in-laws bike. its a '92 fzr600 american import. he bought it as a non-runner and got it sorted up ready for starting. i wasnt there but he said it fired up and ran for a while but when he gave it some revs it gave a bang and stopped. the cdi has burnt out on it (you can open it up, its not a sealed unit) and i was wondering if the extra revs passed too much current. any ideas? p.s. the work he done on it was not electrical and the wiring all seems fine, not hacked at thanks
