    Hitlers new bike

very good the guy talking other than hitler was on LEXX a really good sci fi show which got shit in the final 2 series. ( although "Sev" was Fit as F*ck)
  2. i did'nt, but i suppose you can just to even up what's on the cases
  3. use acetone to clean both surfaces. Go in extremely thin ( use a syringe and tiny bead , then finger it over the cleaned surfaces)and let both sides skin for a full minute or so, will seal great and still allow the case halves to be easily seperated later
  4. sounds like you got an air leak usually its the rubber manifolds cracking and letting in air, or over tightened to the cylinder, causing warpage. keep and eye on your oil level, it could be a sticky piston ring if it has been stored for any length of time
  5. check out the other thread on this section
  6. cheapest way would be to get a large cardboard box and open it out, then fold in the centre and wrap around the bike from the front, carefully cutting out holes for the headlamp and handlebars etc. Finally finishng off by careful use of sissors and selotape. Make the end into a bat wing shape like a bat-mobile! Add some stickers from the Panini collection range which you can get from newsagents all over Britain, for that extra personal touch. just my take on things
  7. I remeber them , though not quite that way . who remembers the I-spy books?
  8. wha wha whaaaaaaaaaaa! I was reading this book today, The History Of Glue. I couldn't put it down.
  9. my mates Gilera does the same (honda engine) till its warm
  10. 1) the starter has only one lead from the cover, this is the positive and goes to the positive jump lead( usually red) 2) the engine is earth or negative, use the clips off the jump lead and open jaws and clip to engine fin (it completes the circuit for the starter motor) 3) attach jump leads to a 12v battery observing correct polarity 4) starter should spin, if it don't its knackered

    martha

Poof! and he's gone. good one
  14. thanks for the comments, just clip it to an engine fin, anything with bare metal
  15. correct, and earth to ground on the engine. you canuse a different battery if you want to eliminate the bike battery( like a car one)
  16. you havn't inadvertantly switched off the bike via the kill switch did ya? eh? wobble your keys in the ignition switch in case its not making contact and take out and put back your fuses ensuring all is clean

    1975 xs500

nah! it's crap, deregistered xs400 and look every now and then at xs twin group.
  20. not necesarily, by pass the solinoid by getting jump leads and connecting to earth and the fat black lead from you starter motor. if it spins then its not the starter. and i would suspect the solenoid, do you hear buzzing after the "click" or is it quiet? buzzing indicates starter worn, nothing, i would suspect the solenoid
  21. all the sohc starters look the same to me from the yam worshop manual.
  22. found that netherland site http://www.xs650.biz/
  23. why dont you measure one with a caliper and set it inside your swing arm to see. Other than buying one, that's all I can say about it!
  24. yep, use compressed air that way you can also check if the drillings are blocked. ultra sonic cleaning may be done by a machine shop, but I use JRS in england, ther is sirrus online who are based in canada, they do it too. you need to google for your area I suppose. does sound like your cold start device is not working, sorry I mean choke!
  25. the flat tracker brakes were on the right side, same as the gear change. Its just that they only ever go round left hand corners. you could check out omars.com (google it) they specialize in xs650's dirt/flat trackers.
