  1. could have sworn i see 'em on ebay, got my 2A2 seat/helmet lock from USA ebay brand new!!!
  2. you could get a colortune kit. that way you can see a spark and also if it is burning ( good for adjusting carb mixture as well)
  3. sounds like an air leak, check the rubber inlets for cracking and clean out the pilot jets as these supply the fuel for idle.
  4. drewpy replied to sschering's topic in Classics
    shouldn't that be 2A2?

found this; Motorcycle/ATV Year Model Identification Identify your year model by using the letter of the alphabet used as the last digit in the units model name. Eg. YZF-R6S S= Year Model Letter = 2004 YZF-R6T T= Year Model Letter = 2005
  8. my old bike chain had a funny noise comming from it.....although it was wrapped round the wifes neck at the time and had some very tight links in it

I've seen a 120 on an xs400 and you had to cut the chain guard. so it should fit in the swing arm (mm's to spare)
  10. keep up the good work and post some pikkies as you go....which is what i should be doing really

This bloke goes to see his doctor and says, "every time I fart, it sounds like a Honda motorbike." So the doc asks the chap to pull his pants down and bend over. Sure enough, the man farts loudly and its sounds like a Honda motorbike. The doc says, "you've got an abscess up your arse." The bloke says, "surely it can't make my arse make noises like that." The old doctor says, with a cheeky smile, "abscess makes the fart go Honda!"

When I pulled the curtains this morning and looked out, I thought there must have been a terrible storm last night. Fences were laying flat, windows were smashed in, rubbish was strewn all over the place, and the power was out. Then I remembered. I live on a council estate.

I went to see Chubby Brown at the weekend. As soon as he came on stage I started shouting "You fat bastard! You fat bastard!" Then I was told by security that that sort of behaviour wasn't tolerated at the Labour party conference.

nice one mate, must find some more
  15. I remember when this site was just fields, FIELDS I say!!! I like the rd aircooled site where you can hover your mouse over the shortened question and get a more detailed (abet still shortened) version, that way if it don't intersest me, I can move on without backtracking all the time. why can't there be a paid "members" section where we could access discounts etc if there are thousands of members then I'm sure sponsors would be interested in paying towards the site plus give a discount to members who shop with them!!
  16. your not related to parsley boobs are you? I use millars 20/50 sport semi synth but its £30 (gulp!!)
  17. you wil need to get another drain bolt. the new ones have a larger head on them to get a better purchase. I welded another nut on top of the bolt, so with the heat and so forth, the drain bolt undid. coils share a red/white +ve feed and have orange and grey from contacts or TCI (not too sure of tci colours) BTW, clean out the oil strainer by taking off 6 X 6mm bolts under the engine (square alloy thing)
  18. juist take it off for now and use the main stand only

http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vin/yamaha.asp damn tried it and will only accept 17 digits
  20. unfortunatly the kick only turns the motor over 1 revolution. spray in some carb start and bump start the bike. As its not been running a while I suspect that every thing is gummed up. change the oil and filter first so the engine has a chance to be properly loobed.
  21. replacement turn cancellres are £45 so maybe the owner thew it away. As for the side stand switch, I don't have one and really can't see any problem without one. the gubbins are usually attached inside the side stand bracket!!
  22. you need the following; 1) xs250 wire/disk front end, there is already taps and drillings for a second disk as standard on all xs400/250 wheels 2) Sr500 carrier and caliper ( is marked L on carrier) 3) xs1100 or twin disk xs750/850 master cylinder 4) twin stainless hoses with dual banjo at master cylinder rear 1) swing arm for disk model 2) xs250 disk wire wheel and spacers sell your drum stuff to cafe racers as it has the "period" look
  23. 12r refers to the model number of the bike ( and its associated different parts) mines 2A2 so any part starting with 12R won't fit my bike! hope that helps Oldgit, I'v lost me Intenet explorer now ( bloody virus)
