Making an entrance?
you need something LOUD to get attention. is there a local british biker club where they could calvcade you to the prom? preferably 20 or so bikes up to the front door? couldn't miss you and it would be so cool especially if you had leathers on like James Dean

Nodding bikers?
who remembers when you flashed a car the same model as yours? dad used to have a "herbie" and that got the best reactions (as they still do now with the "W" wave) it's harder now as the cars all look the same but in the 70's it was common. I drive an RX4 and we alway wave to each other as there are so few of them around!!

just started my rebuilt engine
Whay!! rebuilt engine fired straightaway. the reason I did it was because the engine case was porous and leaked oil. the new case was from XS360's (R.I.P.) estate and was only £2. spent another £200 on bearings and gaskets etc though!!! checked the timimg and unbeliveably it was only very slightly retarded (like me) so left it for now. just been for a cautious blast and it hunts slightly in low revs. i have reset the float height as it was set too high at 26mm and should be 32mm. I think i need to balance the carbs and richen the pilot screws. engine nice and quiet as I put in new rings i bought years ago with new cyl head (£60), camchain(£38) and camshaft (£15). MOT due but it'll piss it!! I forgot the brakes were shit hot (xs1100 twin disks)

Fork oil change
 I had to drill one and buy a slide hammer to shift it, that's after a rebuild the year before!! I remember sending one, when I was restoring the bike, to local engineers who had to lathe the plug thin to get out the spring. The foreman told me, the operator was banging the fork down to push out the plug and visually checked every time to see how much it moved. the last time he looked the spring wasn't there and as he looked around, the spring hit him on the head. must have shot 30 feet in the air and took a few seconds to land best £20 I've ever spent

XS360
just need to check the jet sizes as they even differed over the 400 range! to all intents and purposes, they are the same carbs as 400. i listed the jet sizes in this forum somewhere
