disconnect the earth lead and if its still on you have a short to earth. but if it goes out, trace the earth lead back till you find a chafed wire. BTW to the forum. and can you post in the workshop or classics section please? drewps

4k is when the main jet kicks in, have you cleaned the spray bar holes? have a look here as it gives good tips

I think on that bike the round custom head suits the bike, I just look at the pretty pictures on the blog

I've had loads of peeps say that and when they clean them with ultrasound all the crap gets dislodged from the carbs. If the starter system is def clear, then all that's left to look at is the rubber seals at the end of the choke shaft.

I think there is a standard "spin" on the mechanical turning so any like for like speedo works. only exception would be a kPH speedo, but you can get mechanical converters.

when you tighten the nut underneath. the rubber is compressed and tightens up in the top yolk. just checked mine and I have to give a fairly big tug to get them to move. I wonder if the yolk holes have worn larger due to slack bushes? I'm sure I have a pair in the shed., I'll measure the diameter for you they are 32mm
