  1. from the exhaust it could be flooding of the carb. mine did/still does that,(another job on the to do list) burnt oil is blue in colour. there realy should be a seal around the header as no smoke should be comming out there, so i would get new gaskets.
  2. I wonder if the headlamp relay is faulty and causing a drain on the electrics?
  3. don't forget to cure it in the oven, otherwise it won;t be petrol proof and can chip easy!!
  4. have you felt the weight of the xs alloy wheels? they weigh a ton. i spent lots of money converting to spokes (although I do have disk brakes) drewps

might have to bush the lever hole as it will have worn oval. needs drilling round and someone to make a bronze bush! or buy another one from yambits, hvc or PGM drewps
  6. i thought creamy goo is what mothers find in teenager's beds!!!
  7. the "hanging" of revs is down to gummed fuel in the pilot system, you may be able to tweek the pilot screw richer.
  8. use thread lock, normally the bolts already have the thread lock on then like this
  9. just comming back from Austria with the scouts, so I might have to give it a miss.
  10. cool, keep us posted in the classic section drewps
  11. or float height has changed. try running some fuel cleaning additive through the tank to see if it helps
  12. what i meant was take up the slack and feel a little resistance, then swing. some folk just put a foot on the kick and wack it through putting undue strain on the system. the cg125 i got had a snapped kicker.
  13. bet that'll cost you an arm and a leg.......leathers, helmet etc
  14. never had any probs with mine except for wear on the spindle. a lot of riders jab at the kickstart which will put an undue strain asthe slack gets taken up. I'm sure if its done properly there would be no issues. maybe a previous owner misused it? not sure about the hvc stuff, but very expensive!!
  15. I've read this 5 times and I can't quite get what you are saying!!
  16. Absolutely terrifying NZ road safety notice that oozes blood whenever it rains. ">" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="873" height="525">
  17. if the floats drop into the bowl and are not fouled in any way, the ideal height will be 3mm from top of gasket when full of fuel. i think you need to experiment with the float heights. So to answer your other question, no, the floats would not just drop in without some sort of tang bending. I hope the floats you got are able to do that as some floats are fixed for a particular carb!! 34mm is the venturi nearest the engine.
