  1. half the link's missing!!
  2. No, its a bitch to remove, especially if you do infrequent lubes. there is an aftermarket bolt that has a 17mm head. you will need to coat the thread in copper slip when reattaching. the last one i did was to weld a larger nut over the head and the heat and greater leverage unscrewed the bugger. there is an O ring which will catch the cover when releasing, causing it to spin. drewps

you could try and cover the inside of the cones up. it is something to do with the diaphram air intake and the vortices of the air induction. try and see if you can use longer intake hoses between the cones and carbs as this is what I did on thew 400 flat-tracker! drewps
  16. at the top of this page maybe?
  17. green250 the electrical has been done to death in this forum, try a search ( more than 4 words)its usually a duff battery, or voltage regulator. the xs400 is identical to the 250 except for carbs, valve sizes and bore, so you can down load the manuals at the top of this page. ( its called xs400 links) clutch is really easy and the manual will show you how. if you have any probs come back to us drewps
  18. just recheck your connections and earth wire/s have you isolated the switches, they can be adjusted. You can manually pull the rear brake switch and see what happens and also bridge the two wires to switch to see if its the switch its self. All the wires do is complete a circuit! drewps

AYE, Its no "Yoke" this problem I would say it was the steering head lock. its called a neuman lock, check it hasnt been inadvertantly been activated. The yoke should easily by pass the mechanism!! the bearing have cups on the stem and the headstock and need to be drifted out if renewing. drewps
