  3. I'd say, carbs, exhaust, prop shaft lines/cables etc lie the bike on the side (everythng else is taken off) and lift the frame off the bike! why not send it for pwder coating. triple-s in bingley is not too far and don't charge much. they blast it and cover all the threads. here

  5. fully charged battery. that's all I can think of except switch on the ignition
  6. xs400 will fit in with no mods
  7. I'd check the the ignition timming starting with the points gap using dwell if you have one. then strobe the bike drewps
  8. is OG on the run again?
  9. A-OOP david good intro! I like the triples especially the grey ones. electrics are the bugbear of the triples. Lots of the xs and rd range parts bins will cross over, just need to do a visual check. I have xs1100 brakes on mine, sounds good, but they are exactly the same as a 400 just the extra disk fitted and larger bore Master cylinder. SR calipers are the same and live on the left hand side while xs400/250 are on the right ( inc carrier) drewps
  10. can't you stick a stick oop the hole protruding into the tank?

  13. to me (i've had a few pints at this point) red, blue and brown are connected when the switch is in the "on" mode in park "P" mode, Red and blue are connected which enables the lights to work independantly of ignition. my igntion switch had a fourth wire to the main beam switch, which i soldered in
