  1. so long as they are both sohc and have the electronic ignition, i can't forsee any problems. it should be just a straight swap. just have a looksey at the front mountings and see if they are the same. the engines got rubber mounted at the front about 1980

  6. could be water which means head gasket failure. was it all re-torqued down after 100 miles or so?
  7. I'd appreciate that. I have a sealed reed relay DPST, couple of 330 ohm resistors, and a couple of ceramic caps rated @ 50v. Pillingas has given me good advice up to now, but I'm all for more info! I also managed to get meself a tiny case and mini hobby board for soldering onto. I must be good at soldering as I repaired ny vauxhaull key fob as the battery holder snapped off! cheers drewps

  10. showed the kids the sigue sigue tune, and they said, thank god we wern't born when that came out. When I said it got to number 1 they howled with laughter! can't say I'm a fan either!!
  11. I have oem keys and there's only 4 number and never heard of a 5th letter. I'm sure there's a thread here where someone can cut keys from the number!
  12. the key number is only 4 digits, check ebay as I'm sure they had key blanks on there not long ago!

  14. I used to fly R/c planes, cost a blinking fortune. Used to annoy the residents on woolacome sands about 7am flew off RAF Chivenor a few times, and they are hard to see on a cloudy day, especially if you take syour eyes away for a second ther's an annual show near Southport called woodvale show, where they used to fly swedish pulse jets. here's one similar in action doing 350KM per hour.
  15. usually the starter clutch, first check the starter motor is securly fastened. replacing the starter clutch is a PITA
