can you just stick a cork/rubber bung in there temporarily?
what about a bike breakers, try and find how many different bikes the part will fit , then ask if they break those bikes
my thoughts too and at only £15 delivered, its worth a punt.
did some more rewiring today, trying to use as much of the existing stuff as I can, which is quite a lot
might have her running next weekend then I have 3 bikes to choose from
I rode 2 bikes today, first the Gilera ( up and down the gearbox all the time) and it knackered me out
so took the tracker out to Rivvington car park Barn for a few hours.and blew away the cobwebs
the carbs on these bikes are really finiky.
just leaving them with gas in for longer than a month, causes all sorts of gumming and poor running.
you havn't said what itsa like to ride only tick over. the bike needs a good run, not irregular start ups which does no good.
do you have an inline fuel filter fitted, is the pet cock free of debris?
carb inlets cracked?
is it a points model?
BTW its not a restored bike, its a modded one
Question;
the original coils I have are 2.43 to 2.97 ohms and suit the original ECU
the '91 xj engines have 1.8 - 2.2 ohms, anyone think it will fry the ECU? ( it took me 6 months to find one)
put in a 95 mains in today and...spot on sparky is a nice brown colour
went for a little ride, its quite loud so turns heads and I have to get used to this changing gear routine too, up and down the box all the time.
I think the running jet is a bit too large now, but I'm on WOT all the time anyway!
still need to sort out this dragging clutch as its hard to get neutral and you have to rev the engine to stop it stalling.
i went to do a bit more on the FZ today....
....and I just thought sack it. and changed the engine over so the new engine is in so I just need to put new needles in the carbs (£52 EEK!) and fire her up (hopefully)
the new reg/rec arrived from China too, happy days
it all goes around the battery tray.
battery in the tray
depending on model rectifier under the tray, regulator to the rear of the tray
flasher and cancellation switch on the front
starter rear of tray to the right
I would have thought, gas flowed head, skimmed to raise compression, slotted cams, beehive valve springs, race exhaust, FCR carbs, dyno jet, about 30 hours on dyno to dial it all in.
that's about 1.5k's worth there, want to go further?
I'm sure you can get a cable made up.
loads in the UK but don't know any in the US.
have you tried yamahatopdog they stock everything
loads on eBay, unless your too tight
