Ken, did the NW500 a few years ago, loved it. Nice the 850 although I have a soft spot for the 750. I think it was the colours it were in. Do you get to go to the Bonfest at Kirriemuir?

have a soft set on my fz600 . mine have a strap and this is fitted under the seat to get trapped there. this holds them in place you can put some bungie cords to stop the bottom flapping around

why check ohms? you only tend to do that for the stator need to see if 14.4 volts are there when engine is at 2 -3 k revs either the battery on its way out or Reg/rec if you think charging is suspect.

sounds ok to me too. I'd give it a service, when are the valves due to be checked?

in Mr Ferreira. Very formal so long as your first name is not Lou and you turn green when angry, i'm sure we can help somehow

you can use an infrared thermometer too. very handy for diagnostic and for covid19
-
good info, did you have to machine pockets for the valves?
-
check inlet manifold for cracks and leaks by spraying easy start around there to see if the revs rise.
-
just keep it, not going to make a difference in the millions the DVLA take.
-
wow, I've spent a small fortune on just the top end of my TDM £90 just for a head gasket and that's for a twin cylinder bike.
-
to the forum I too own an XS400
-
An alternative is to use an ignitech unit
-
there's a technique to it, you don't want all power straightaway but a gradual process. I did mine so the leading edge touched fractionally before the rest

but there's air bleed jets surely? if they are blocked, then it'll always be rich
