is the side cover fitted? I always have issues getting the kick stop and gears to mesh when putting in the kick shaft. Its usually trial and error for me and I've rebuilt 3 engines
-
geeze, shit happens man. good opportunity to buy some new stuff
-
yep, CDI went out early 70's could be either the ignition caps or leads if you can get 1 and 4 to work
-
do you have a spare TCI?
-
schedule is now out http://www.iomtt.com/Classic-TT/Classic-TT-Schedule.aspx
-
therm shock will get them off as Slice suggested, heat, then cold ad infinitumn. should come loose eventually
-
these have one pickup coil. its a wasted spark system so 1 and 4 cyl sparks and so does 2 and 3 so I'd look at the coil. First look to see if 12v is reaching the coils with the ignition on. The TCI earths to ground to complete the circuit, also check the HT caps as they fail too. I assume you've swapped the plugs in case they are faulty?
-
it depends on which year is your xj, the '91 has one pickup coil, earlier ones had 2.

my mate was part of the Lymn show, I did the older venues, but never went to the Barn Owl (I might shut it down like the others) RC31? nice

think its gone, along with the FJ
-
I was there Kev, didn't see you
-
if the bushes are worn, it creates movement and forces the seal into positions it wasn't designed to do. could happen to any bike, if you have a main stand, put it on that and try to rock the lower forks fore and aft to detect any movement
-
not my vid so cann't control the content
-
if someone is driving towards you, you first assume that they see you and will make the necessary actions to move/stop. then there is a point where the motorcyclist realises that he can't/didn't see you, hence the reaction to shout and move out of the way. the speed of the lorry was the issue as I think he took it wide because of the lady pedestrian on that corner.

very nice, i do like the flat tankers
-
this was for me, the best time for bike ownership. cars were shit, roads were clear and no speed traps or Police as such
-
guys a freeking knob, he even checked his van for scratches. love the lady, bless
-
Do honda use the same engine number as well as frame number like Yamaha? that way you could claim that the frame number is also the engine number and ask for a dating cert based on that!
-
same here tommy, although I'm still building the bike, just awaiting the rear shock so I can get to it and build it back up. couple of days worth and hopefully she'll fire up!
