I thought the flies go faster than a "ped"!!
  11. screwing out the pilot is richening the mix, so i would say your carbs need cleaning, and not just a squirt of carb cleaner either!! If you have an ultra sonic bath use that, and compressed air to get at the tiny galleries within the carb. drewps
  12. starter clutches are notorious for wearing, especially on a big engine. usually can be done with the engine in situ, but still a pain to do.
  13. sounds lean to me, try richening the pilots out a bit. gas so put a link to a carb tune (its for xs650 but info can be used for all carbs) look under classics and pinned "xs400 links" drewps

when I lived in N devon, had a kh125 and decided to see how fast I could go round a particular bend. I eventually ran off the tyres at about 6 in the morning, pushing my thumb socket out ( and I pushed it back in!) then having to push the feckin bike into Ifracombe up the bloody hills and explain why i need to go to the hospital to an irate boss!!
  16. amazing stuff, I like the bystanders looking over when he drops. I'm sure they're thinking WTF is he ok!!

How many mystery writers does it take to screw in a light bulb? Two: One to screw it almost all the way in and the other to give it a surprising twist at the end. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hate all this terrorist business. I used to love the days when you could look at an unattended bag on the tube and think, 'I'll fucking have that!' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've started taking Viagra for my eyes, it makes me look well hard ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New Zealand has parade of topless porn stars on motorcycles called "Boobs on Bikes" due to pass through Wellington. Meanwhile, here in England, we go one better with "Cunts on Bikes", as David Cameron and Boris Johnson cycle to work.

  21. erm... no!! they are there for a specific reason and I would replace all the rings anyway if those have broken. the rings may have turned in the barrel making the ring expand into the ports causing a fracture, so make sure you have the piston pegs in place when reassembling. drewps
