excellent wite up and pretty much spot on with my ownership of this bike, although mine pulls up to red line ( well it did when i was racing an rd at wombwell). you can replaces the plastic swing arm bushes (original yam) with bronze type which last a lot longer.

the gp boys clutcless up shift but have ignition control which cut the engine as the gear lever goes up. that way they hold the throttle open all the way up the gears. they use clutch on down shift, but with slipper clutches so the back wheel don't lock up!!
I'vre done it, but nothing to gain and I may break a 30 yr old bike!!
where they ultrasonically cleaned?
its amazing what comes out of "cleaned" carbs, we had a thread last year where the guy swore blind his carbs were clean ( till he saw the light)
sounds like its running a little weak, adjust your pilot settings front of carbs.
until you get the floats sorted, you can't expect too much in the way of performance!!
I do like the quiet surburban backdrop, then start revving the bike up and the dog starts barking etc
yep, battery and flooding, that'll mess it up and even if the battery has 12v, the amps may be gone.
happened to mine in the pissing rain, it started missing and wouldn't run over 50 mph. new battery and voila!!
