that's not too bad 13.5 volts, it is charging. what is the problem exactly? maybe need a new battery if its not holding a charge!
  2. don't forget to keep the BS number on the can or it will fail the MOT!! I'm sure you won't be too "baffled" with the next stage
  3. jay why are you worried about an overflow pipe. the issue here is you have a fuel leak and its usually down to float valve wear or crap in the fuel preventing a seal! either wy you MAY get away with tapping the carb body to seat the valve, failing that you need to strip the carbs down and replace the valves. Get the kits from when donw ensure you have fitted an inline fuel filter, those are easier to change than stripping carbs! drewps
  4. have you tried yamaha? granby's, or fowlers will tel you. if you have the part numbers then that will simplify things drewps
  5. yamaha service manual says the same thing. i'd just go between those figs say 47lbs ft drewps
  6. i'd look at the battery as these have a short life. you may get 12v but its the amps you need. best way to check its taking a charge, is to rev the bike at 3k and put a multimeter on the battery terminals. you should be getting 13 to 14 half volts!! other than that there is a charging issue or the battery is kaputt!

  16. you need to check yamahatopdog ( speed sport) for parts, but you'll find it easier with parts numbers

  22. no, i said you can use the xs1100 master cyl! the brake lever is irrelevant as its just a replacable part and common to all yam bikes of the era. you need a left caliper and mount for the dual system, check the caliper pictures as some had a swinging caliper which is different from the floating caliper which I think you have!!
