    XS650

to the YOC Gman clutch cable cover is just a cover and won't leak out oil. once fitted, turn the adjuster on the engine side till it lightly touches and back off 1/4 turn and lock off. adjust the lever for 5mm of play the best oil is clean oil!! change it regulary, in my xs400 i use millars 20w 50 in the summer! drewps

    Traffic lights

176 in the Highway Code You MUST NOT move forward over the white line when the red light is showing. Only go forward when the traffic lights are green if there is room for you to clear the junction safely or you are taking up a position to turn right. If the traffic lights are not working, treat the situation as you would an unmarked junction and proceed with great care.
  4. shift forks? if its in the box then yes, if you mean the quadrent that spins the shift drum then no. if you are lifting the gears out, you might as well strip the case down and get it vapour blasted, don't paint it but leave bare, there is no paint good enough to paint with when PJ1 stopped doing yamaha silver you can rebuild an engine in a month, which should give you plenty of time for riding on your bike for summer!! its expensive to rebuild egines, it cost me £200 just to swop over all the innards with an NOS case off ebay ( gaskets and oil seals etc)
  5. nice one, should be jammy git not old git

  8. just had a quick sqidge on the internet for this adapter if it is part # 99999-02290-00 then there are 2 at nwvintage got the info here
  9. easiest way would be to get a xvs loom. the xs250 will be nothing like it, as it carries different electrical components due to its age!!
  10. if your engine skills are as good as that mount sytem, that's gonna be one hellava engine!
  11. I recon they don't sound as good, there's no back pressure to seal the incoming charge on valve overlap so there might be some HP lost. the reverse cones are LOUD though!
  12. i'd re-read it Foams, you didn't quite get the gist
  13. fitted these lamps today. think they are ok? I'm using a hidden switch to activate them along-side a VW headlamp dimmer relay

    Traffic lights

between certain times of the day, when its quiet, some traffic lights go into auto mode. they are triggered by headlamps, pressure sensors or the metal in car bodies via magnetic strips in the road ( its those criss cross bitumen lines on the road near traffic lights). unfortunatly, bikes are too light and don't have enough metal to trigger the signals. I'm sure I read somewhere you are entitled, after so many mins, to ride through lights if they are faulty. I had to do that on a right turn coz I'd been there 10 mins!! i pushed the bike across the junction you can buy a magnet that fits under your bike to energise the sensors. give the lights a flash as well, those sensors are on top of the lights themselves drewps

Yes, it's "Put A Donk On It", but with a woman in the bottom right-hand corner, signing the lyrics and having a bloody good time doing it. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUJbe5mls5Y&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0xcc2550&color2=0xe87a9f"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUJbe5mls5Y&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0xcc2550&color2=0xe87a9f"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUJbe5mls5Y&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0xcc2550&color2=0xe87a9f" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

    Help

you'll need a multimeter on DC and connect on battery terminals. It should read 12.5 v, with engine started @ 4k revs should be between 13.5 and 15 volts.
  20. have you tried an online fiche? that usually gives the way they are fixed via a broken line! try here
  21. i'd check the dimensions so they look right against the bike, maybe photoshop a pair on so you can see for sure if it works. its amazing what looks good on 1 bike is not right on another!
