  1. Got me ticket today for Wombwell near Barnsley today. If anyone is interested here's the link
  2. if you scerw in too far you will seat the tips and they will grip the sides and snap off. aircooled engines are noisy beasts, oil level ok? check valve clearances (tappets are for OHV engines ) cam chain can slacken and you can get piston slap if bore is worn, but it don't sound like that. you can get a long screw driver and hold the handle to your ear and touch the other end against the engine, this cam pin point any dodgy noises. drewps

  6. went to VJMC lymm show today and met up with OT. good weather and as a brucie bonus got 3rd best Yamaha award. got a bit wet on the last mile to home, so i didn't timed it quite right saw a silver Saxon bike, this Silver Saxon turbo was manufactured by the top 70's tuning company S+S Performance, and is a prototype/development bike they used to try and crack 200mph back in 1977. The bike was sold to the heavy metal rock band Saxon, who used it as a stage prop in the early 80's. The bike delivers anything between 215 and 300bhp http://authortech.net/bikesite/Pages/Wil%20pages/saxon1.html for more info
  7. whats a needle valve seat clamp?
  8. Xen I'd check the timing, especially if you have contact ignition (also check the contacts for pitting) you really need a xenon strobe lamp so it can be done when running. swapping over the coils also swapped the timming if you didn't swap over the feed wires. that will mean they will fire with the pistons at BDC. also sounds initailly like you have carb issues as, if you cleaned them properly, you would'nt get any crud in the mains. do you have an inline filter between tank and carbs? its poss that the tank is rusty inside, this will also affect the petcock. drewps
