  1. wrinkly, i did my IAM 2 years ago in 2022. best thing I did. I tend to own just yams although I did dabble in a little gilera as a resto mod
  2. The Yamaha Enticer is an entry-level cruiser motorcycle that was produced from 2002 to 2006 in India. I've no idea how to comment as never heard the engine run, If yamaha service centre says its gone, then I would assume they would know. Looks like a similar engine would fit, but you would need the electronics with it too. Sounds like it's above your knowledge though unless you know a sympathetic motorbike tinkerer nearby.
  3. inn have a ride on different bikes if you can, even if its just a sit on. You'll soon get a feel of what they feel like with the balance etc.
  4. FAQ's for the site NOT bikes
  5. yep, get it started first, easier to sell and get more money for it.
  6. process of elimination rather than swapping parts. bypass the switches one by one. When I had issues like that, it turned out to be a fault in a wire from the sensor even though it ohm'd out ok
  7. I run a '96 TDM850 and its taken me everywhere. Simple to work on and very popular in europe. MT-07 is light and newer and probably my choice.
  8. Kevin, As I've already explained I would do. I've messaged Alex and he's promised to get back to you today or tomorrow. He also says check your spam folder in your emails
  9. i swapped my fz600 engine for a 91 version and had to use the correct ecu. it wouldn't start and there should was a very long (over 6month) fault finding escapade. It was down to 1 wire wittch tested ok, but failed when electricity was used. check your ecu number and google that, I may have one in my shed somewhere as I did the same thing. Wasn't until i bypassed the loom was the error found
  10. aye, same to you all. Merry Xmas and a happy new year!
  11. 14 years? I'd say its an old thread. google carl salter, I'm closing this thread
  12. you never stop learning, i did my IAM course last year and was a valuable experience. Always look as far as you can and reduce the hazards by speed and position. Communicate to other users you are there by changing position etc As they say be able to stop within the distance ahead of you and on your side of the road.

can you undo them at the engine side rather than carb side? I've modded/shortened allen keys just to do that. For my TDM i have to use a universal joint on a 1/4" drive socket adapter with extensions, absolute pain to do as i have to feel around and hope i have latched onto the screw

what are carb clips? do you mean the inlet manifolds which have clamps on them?
  15. i used one in a gilera and it had replaceable jets (some don't) managed to dial it in and ran well. A few years ago so no idea regarding the seller

seems to be a lot faster now 👍
  17. usually for yams, its a whittled wooden dowel bashed down to lock inside the fork at its lowest point. Do a google search. also upturned bolt (don't know which size) welded to a rod. A quick spin on a drill could turned the bolt before the inner rod span.
  18. great news, there's a sense of satisfaction in getting something going
  19. i agree then you can eliminate that. Double check valve timing too, been there done that
  20. i thought you need a vacuum to fix the Carbon and glue to each other. you don't want delimitation as that weakens the product. I think autoclave might just for speeding things along
  21. baz, clean bike you have there 👍
