there was a unit in the 80's which had a wheeled box that sat on the wheel and made bike noises as you rode

I keep the horn for the ladies

Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System?, that's what I have on the Tracker and it doubles up as an exhaust emission system
  7. every action has an equal and opposite reaction, basically the rest of what you said
  8. its pissing down outside ATM, I'll wait an hour or so and then decide if I'll go or not
  9. all part of 2 stroke ownership I'm afraid. Newton's law of physics you'll enjoy getting to know the bike a bit better this way anyway
  10. I'd just tidy it up as much as possible, sticking to the standard theme. so long as there's a few shiny bits of paint/chrome in there for the new owner to justify buying it, then you'll get the best bang per buck
  11. having no idea what the car was, I used my HTML knowledge to find the answer
  12. I made my own gasket for that, I don't like using goo until the last resort. your getting really good at this mechanical lark
  13. just measured my tank on the tracker, 6.10 litres At least I can get 60 miles on that and with my plank seat that's all you would need.
  14. shall we have some medals/certificates for certain "challenges"? furthest travelled most breakdowns most pissed etc?
  15. I would say the car took his concentration away (he could see it over the wall I recon) panicked and this is the result.
  16. yep, carbs off and you should be able to reach it then.
  17. that has salt as the thickener. use turps/white spirit, its the cheapest (and not that alternative environmental shite)
  18. cat and fiddle road, no wonder its overpoliced
  19. mine is on the bike and I don't fancy stripping it down as yet, I have work and other commitments. why not ask on xs400.com?
  20. Its out now if you want to waste £10
  21. that looks great Felix, sure to blow the cobwebs away!
  22. mine wasn't even that. off road test to see if I could handle the bike (yea right, after a 2 hour ride to get there,as I lived in N Devon and the test centre in Bridgewater I think) then back in Manchester and tootle round the block 4 times with a man and a clipboard watching me every 2secs as I passed him by. (so that's 8 seconds of road assessment!)
  23. your right, 30mm instead of 32mm standard. 'tis a very tight queeze in there
  24. was travelling a fair lick, lambo at fault methinks
