if you lock a dog in the boot of the car, he's still happy to see you after a few hours On the other hand if you locked the missus in there......
  5. could be, batteries don't really last all that well in a motorcycle
  6. on the float bowl, see the little drilling on the lip? shoot some carb cleaner down it, thats the choke route.

  9. Great night and good to see you all. could see Blackpool tower in the distance and someone was in a hot air balloon going for a flight the bandit was nice Kev, shame you broke his tail unit getting on the wrong side
  10. so you have the 250 carbs then. you need to confirm that they have the 250 jets in. I never trust garage mechanics tbh, its not their bike and usually give those jobs to the "Saturday boy" you shouldn't need to prime the carbs, its on a vacuum tap which lets the fuel flow. check that fuel does flow if you need to do this, could be partially blocked. make sure you have an inline fuel filter too

  12. not sure what I'm doing yet. only would have just got back with Tommy from the IOM ManxGP. I'll have to let you know thursday
  13. are the carbs' choke a lever or a pull to operate? I assume it eventually starts but how? fires on 1 cyl and then 2 chimes in or does it get straight to it? I'd suggest looking at your timing first, that's clean contacts, contacts gap, take off left cover and find LF to check ignition timing. (even better use a strobe) and check RF timing if the bike has had a 400 barrel and head on, the carbs will have had the mains and pilot jets increased so you need to check if they have the correct ones for the 120 and also check the needle position and type. that'll do for starters

its called VHT (very high temperature) Paint the crinkle finish paint is from Frost £10 and I recommend PJ1 off ebay, its expensive but is the best finish out of all the paints and doesn't need a primer. bake it afterwards (or run engine) to cure it.

well its more or less done, engine turns over and electrics seem to work. couldn't really do that much today as it persisted it down. So next job is to prime the engine, run a temp fuel line and fire her up/balance the carbs need to relocate the horn and do a bit of snagging and then tax her and MOT is due end August.
