when i went to a lecture on the science of being seen. rear enders are very rare as I asked that very question. Pink was the safest colour to wear and making your bike "bigger" using lights on handle bars are a good thing too. I have LED hand guards on mine. moving your bike to the crown presents a larger area of bike at junctions (the most dangerous for motorbikes)and watch for the car wheel turning when they are stationary indicates they are about to move off. So feather those brakes ready to stop. Always be able to stop in the distance you see the road ahead to be clear.
  2. Happy days, well done
  3. looking good
  4. they have always been marginal at best. Think I welded a plate under each one after checking the pivot wasn't worn

Hi, Does anyone do 3d scanning? I have the fillets on the TDM which are starting to breakup do to their age. They are only about 10" long and 4" high and are handed. If I can get them scanned, then i could have them 3D printed TNX
  6. might want to check out a youtuber who calls it the science of being seen. TVAMScience of Being Seen - Part 1 - TVAMUnless you’ve been under a rock, you’ve probably heard of ‘Biker Down’. It’s an accident scene management and first aid […]some really good info in there.
  7. those carbs are really fickle, when you think they are clean, clean again. 😁
  8. great weather for tinkering. I need to get mine running as its been off road since 2018 (pre covid)
  9. I did mine with the manchester branch and although they were always mentioning making progress, this didn't phase me and even lost the observer one time on the twists. he then claimed i was speeding when I defiantly wasn't. I do enjoy a spirited ride, although I do like to look around if touring so ride accordingly. I got different observers each session which provided a balanced approach as it def is their personal approach within the framework. I got a lot out of it and suss a lot of idiots out before they make their move. I do think its depends on who you have observing.
  10. always be able to stop within the space that you can see ahead. One of the things that was drummed into me doing the advanced rider. We all make mistakes though
  11. not been to a show for ages. had to trace a short in my bike's wiring. In the end I had to take out the wiring loom, but that's another story
  12. :welcome: try and get a 400 top end at least as the 250 will be underpowered IMHO. that wire bike reminded me of the bosozoku bikes 😆 https://youtu.be/di3U4Nk0ueM?si=I-6xPmfyQLvtTbJS
  13. i PM'd you ages ago and thought you were sorted. I took photos and just need to WhatsApp the photos if you PM your mob number

If I remember correctly an axle bolt fits the rotor. do it up tight and shock it off with a hammer
  18. rebuilt a few xs400's
  19. I would use a heat gun as there may be thread lock on there and should help undo. I've had to jump on my breaker bar in the past
  20. sorry but this section is for form issues not bike issues. I'll move it to the relevant section.
  21. get these from image works http://www.bike-stickers.com/homepage.htm

  23. glad your bonding though, doing your own work can be very satisfying as you care more for your baby than anyone else can. If you can get those mesh covers on your seat, it should stop any pooling of water and hopefully keep you drier in the crotch area if that's what is happening
  24. tracer sounds perfect
