Not sure if the downpipes affect performance but i have just replaced the original downpipes with stainless steel pipes from Delkevic. Only £99 from ebay but also available on Delkevic's website. www.delkevic.co.uk. I was a little jubious of cheap pipes especailly as quotes from dealers were £250 plus. I fitted them myself with no motorbike mechanical experience and they were a perfect fit. No problems and well recommended!!

I used Honda Vogue Silver from Halfords, its was a damn good match, primed, painted and laquered swing arm while still attatched to bike. I also used this to paint the engine casing at the side where oil filling cap is, not had it on long enough to see if it will withstand heat but recommended for swing arms.
