new lathe, able to make one off parts to order
I'm down south in High Wycombe. I'm a design engineer at work so I can do 3D models of parts before I do anything (my boss can pay for that )

new lathe, able to make one off parts to order
I'm picking up a nice shiny new lathe on Thursday morning, it can machine up to 200mm diameter and 350mm long. If anyone needs any one off parts making for a project, I shall be willing to make them for a very small fee (cost of material, plus delivery, plus just a couple of quid to help pay for this lathe). I also will be getting a mill soon and have grinders, welders and drills so the skies the limit.

Nurburgring, Nordschliefe
I think we were lucky, the track was closed most of the day for testing and we went out pretty early in the session so there wasn't much time for spills. I would agree about the roads, fan-bloody-tastic, so of the roads are as good as the track

Nurburgring, Nordschliefe
We were at the ring for an hour or so and as far as I know there was only one accident, and that was a tour guide who went in too hot on cold tyres into an early bend and low sided it. I was very concerned before we arrived about fluid spills but the track had been closed for private testing by Mercedes and we were in the first surge to go out so the track was dry as a bone.

It's a really nice track, it's more roomy than it looks. The reason they don't race is that there's no run off, so 1 mistake and it's armco barrier time. I think you'd be mad to ride there 100% commited into the corners, I took it real slow (slower than road pace) just because of the shear volume of cars/bikes on there, you need to spend as much time looking in your mirrors as you do on the track ahead (it's pretty tiring ) Could you imagine the uproar the PC knobbers would make if they tried to turn, say, the cat and fiddle run into a one way unlimited toll road for thrashing up, there'd be complaints every second

You do need to constantly watch your mirrors, unless you're blisteringly fast (then you still need to check them as cars carry so much more corner speed). A brilliant time though

Nurburgring, Nordschliefe
It's not about the speed of the bike, there are the mile or so long straight is closed off during public sessions. You need a good set of mirrors though as you are constantly checking them into corners to make sure you don't turn in on someone.

Just thought I'd post a pic of me on the FZR at the Nurburgring last week. Anyone thinking of doing it, do it, it's awesome. I was being a pansy and letting them through

FZR400RR 3TJ mods?
I remember reading on the 400cc grey import owners club that a FZR600R 4jh (yzf600r if in the states) engine will go in with a bit of tweaking

thundercat suspension setup
It might be your tyre. My friend (who has a ZX636) has the same issue, he has just got a new front tyre and he went for a 70 profile instead of a 60 (your's is probably 70 as standard if it's the same as my FZR foxeye) and it's evened it up. It's probably nothing to do with that at all but might be worth just checking you have got standard sizes on both the front and rear

1991 TZR 125
Awsome bike, that was my first real bike (after the YB100 I crashed and bent about 10 times). I never had any trouble with mine and it would stop on a six pence. Good luck mate, if you can get the kit to derestrict it they go like a rocket. Don't just turn the valve round because you'll lose all the bottom end, try to get one of the kits that turns it gradually as you rev it, they make the world of difference

Fork oil
Ah, I got home and the haynes manual said to use 431ml, which is 101mm from the top of the fork leg with no spring in. 503 would just about fill it to the brim and seems a bit much. Oh well whats done is done, it seems to handle ok

FZR600 FORK OIL
Sorry, wrong thread, but the same bike, mine's a foxeye too

Fork oil
Does anyone have a haynes manual to hand for one of these. I'm changing the fork seals this evening and need to get some fork oil. I'm hoping to get some at lunch but being a knob I left the manual at home so don't know how much to get and what grade.

First decent ride yesterday
Cars are a necessary mode of transport and bikes are a hobby/toy. That's why now that financially everyone is struggling car makers are stopping production because no one will spend their money on a new car, yet every bike dealer I speak to says they're shifting just as many as they always have, because we'll always justify to ourselves spending thousands of pounds on something we love, and wave/nod to others who are the same Bit philosophical for this time of the morning. Good job on the tree, gas up, that's a very good day indeed

Lumpy FZR
I usually have the same, in that what I think it is and try will be the complete opposite to what the real problem is. However if the bike has been sat for a while and this was the first fill up I'd say fuel too. First thing is to check if there's and inline fuel filter, if there is you can rule out crap in the carbs (also check it's not full of crap itslef and starving the carbs), if there's no inline filter you may have flushed some crap out of a corner of the tank when you filled it. As far as ignition goes I don't have a clue, but start with the fuel, it's easier to see if there is a problem
