Location info
Ok after a bit of local info from anyone who might live in Bedford. Looking to move inthe next few months from Wolverhampton to Bedford. If anyone lives in the area can you tell me of places I should and shouldn't be looking at? I need to be as close to Bedford Station (not St Johns). Also any pubs that are good to go for a drink, doesn't have to be a biker pub, my other half isn't one and doesn't understand the need for a bike. Thanks

Stupid question...
Ok, do they only work in high beam and not stationary? I can't really see the front of the bike when I'm riding

Stupid question...
Ok, my FZR600 Genesis has a Pass button on the left handlebar - What does it do? I'm guessing its a flashing button to save switching between low/high beam. Does it only work when travelling as I've tested the button from stationary and it does nothing.

Wolverhampton area
Anyone around? Maybe go for a drink (soft) and a ride sometime? Only been riding for 10 months (from CBT through to passing and having a 600), would be new to riding around places other than my daily journey to work.

Past my theory test today
Well done. My only advice on only just passing my test is to try and relax as much as possible. No matter how you think you're doing on the practical test never think that one mistake will be a fail (unless you mow down and old granny). My main problem was trying to get the U-turn right. Could never just get the turning correct.

i passed
Well done on passing.... I went from a Honda CG125 onto an FZR600 Genesis. Absolutely loving it. Shame I didn't pass earlier in the year when the weather was a bit better. Really have the urge to go out on it but never know where to go etc. In the new year I'll get the wife to follow me in her car while I try out the motorway.

FZR Query
Ok query time.... [FZR 600 '91 Genesis] I'm new to riding a big bike so just need some info. I find and the fathyer in law found that when riding slow the bike tends to chug in higher gears, if I put it in a lower gear then i'm just killing the petrol. If I stay in a high gear I find myself riding the clutch. Anyone got any tips? I'm scared to keep riding the clutch in case I wear it out quicker and don't want to keep topping up every other day because I'm sitting in a lower gear. Thanks

Yammy spares
Ok, bike was on the stand but our drive is sloped. Bike slipped over and smashed the LHS wing mirror. Anyone know where to get FZR 600 '91 Genesis spares? I have white covers for the mirrors, I've only managed to find black so far. I'd rather get another white than having to replace both sides and then the bike looking like Micky Mouse. Cheers

1991 FZR600
Problem sorted... Something so simple too (as always). Bike had original battery in but it'd been sitting for months, just seem to give up, changed it for a brand new battery, this turned out to be from a bad batch. Father-in-law changed it for another new battery from a different supplier and its been fine ever since.

Direct Access Test - Cost??
For my direct access I paid £470. This included 3 days training - 1 on a 125cc. 2 days on a Suzuki GE500 slingshot and my practicle test. Failed the first time so the second time I had to pay £200 for a retest and a days training. Thankfully passed this time.

1991 FZR600
Hello everyone. I'm newish to motorbikes, spent the last 8 months riding a Honda CG125 while I plucked up the courage to take my test, now I've passed I have an FZR600, problem being I'm having starting issues with the bike. I apologise if this confuses anyone, I'm not the best at explaining things. (FIL is a mechanic but not really had chance to look fully, just fixed from what I'd told so far) I got the bike last Saturday from my father-in-law (FIL), got it back to mine and left it until Monday morning when it was time for work. Tried to start the bike and it wouldn't fire up and started clicking. I have a charger so hooked it up and left it for 30 minutes, came back and it started. Off I went to work with my new bike with no problems. It got to lunch time and I was showing a friend, tried to start the bike and it didn't want to know. FIL came over changed the battery for a brand new one and it fired up without any issues. The bike had no issues when going home. TUESDAY Left the bike over night, came to it in the morning only to have the same issue as the day before. Charged it for about 5 minutes before it said the battery was full, tried to start the bike and it was fine. Went to work again and as a precaution thought I'd check it at lunch, again same issues as the day before. FIL came over to work jump started the bike and took it to the garage to look at. Couldn't find much wrong with it, the bike would start with no issues so he made sure the battery was fully charged. I picked it up in the evening and took it back home. WEDNESDAY Again same issue in the morning with the bike not starting. Charged it until the battery was full tried to start the bike but got nothing out of it apart from the battery sounding as though it was dying and some clicking. Spoke to FIL who suggested (as he couldn't pick up the bike and I couldn't start it to get to him) that I charge it for an hour and try to start it, this worked, he then said to leave it for an hour and then try again, this time it wouldn't start - ok looks as though something driaining the battery, charged again for an hour went back but this time it wouldn't start. I may have only been on the new bike a few times but I'm lost without it. I have read a few posts on other sites and have tried starting it with the kick stand up - some posts mentioned that this may be tripping it out. Was also told by a friend at work and an avid Yamaha fan that it may be the cold/damp getting into the battery. Any ideas?? Thanks.
