The flasher unit on my sr 125 has packed it in. So went into halfords etc today but they dont have any. There plenty of 21w flashers but mine is apparently 10w x 2 +1.7w. Is there an alternative one i could use?

Time for positive post, Today i, stripped and rebuilt the carb again. check the spark etc, battery, throttle cable free play etc. Gave it another crank and still the same, so i thought, last resort, empty the fuel tank again, so, done it again. put 5l of fresh fuel in and like magic its going like a dream. Didnt take it out a good run yet tho. Sprayed some carb cleaner through the air filter housing whilst revving it and that took out some wee lumps aswell. So, going to take it a decent spin tomorrow, and touch wood. All will be good

Jim, if you wouldnt mind, that would be a big help. I'm sitting just now writing out bits n bobs about what to check and roughly how to do it, Mainly electrical side just now. I have a manual for a ybr 125 but it isn't very clear. SO if you wouldnt mind doing that and anything else you can suggest i can pm you my email to fire it through to me

Yup, its all fresh fuel. The carb is as clean as they get. To me it def sounds like some sort of fuelling problem. If i put the factory settings for the carb on eg idle, it just dies. I need to screw it in at least 1 turn for the idle to be high enough to keep it going. OLDGITONABIKE - If it wasnt in my mates garage in a residential street, there'd def be a stick of the banging stuff going right into the engine! lol

Right, Story goes like this. I have been doing some work on an sr125 which has been sitting for a year. Finally got it (almost) up and running. Had it out a scoot last week and it was fine. i turned it off, 15mins later i went to go again, Made it about a mile and it started chugging then just died. re-started it. Made it about 50m, same again. This time i had to bump start it. Made it another 50m and it was a goner. so pushed it the mile home (yes it hurt) I put a new battery in it as i thought that was the problem. but no. I have stripped, cleaned and made sure the carb settings are all correct. Whenever i open up the throttle it will give a rev then nothing. Engine still ticks, i have to come off the throttle to do it again. When i go to move, it will do the same, Will build up speed to about 10mph, then theres no power, and it will chug again until it cuts out. This is my first bike and i have spent a fortune on parts, Im pretty downhearted by it. Can anyone suggest anything?

Great, I'll give it a wee try when im back at the garage. i was concerned as i had disconnected the clutch cable for removing the engine last week

I didnt try rocking it to be honest. I take it i just push it back and forth, turn the back wheel slightly?
  18. stevie16v replied to stevie16v's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
Heres hoping then. When i had it out, i wasnt going fast enough to go above 3rd gear
  19. stevie16v replied to stevie16v's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
Lol, well if truth be told. I am pretty tight, But considering the amount i've spend on the bike, i'd have been aswell buying a new one! Just posted a problem about the gears aswell. i think i'll be hitting the roof shortly! lol

I went to change the brake fluid, when i went to undo the bleed nipple, the head just sheered off (i had used tons of wd40) but to no avail. It however is still closed so no problem there. I was advised to get one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...rksid=p3907.m29 It goes on where the brake hose goes into the caliper and replaces the standard union bolt, allowing the bleed nipple. Is that a bit clearer?

As you know (from all my unitelligent posts) i've been workign away at the bike. Seems to be having what i think is a bit of a problem. When i was in the garage today i was checking to make sure it was selecting gears. With the engine off. I can feel a definite change when i select 1st, 2nd and 3rd, But if i go to take it up again, it feels like nothing, Is that a problem or would it normally do that? Is there anything i'd maybe need to adjust to sort it?
  22. stevie16v replied to stevie16v's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
I've got one, but i dont want to go taking it out, because then i'llbe goosed for using it for a while, as the bleed nipple has snapped, So if i take it off i'll need to bleed it right?
  23. stevie16v replied to stevie16v's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
mmm could cause a problem then. I'm looking at buying a banjo bolt with a bleed nipple built in, I know its m10, but can't find out the thread size

    I know theres obviously m6, m8 m10 etc but are all of them m? x 1.25?
  25. Thats my plan. I went into halfrauds and bought one, apparently for my model, but it didnt fit, so back to the shop with that tomorrow. Going to internet order one aswell. Just wanting to cut off every possibility incase theres another part i'd need to order just now
