  1. Dont take any chances bud, why not have that piston/rod mounted on a plynth as a momento? :P, they had one in cyprus from an old gokart when i was there last year

You have 2 tins of roses propping up yoor B&D workmate... what the fuck dude? O.o

  2. Well it worked this time, but please bear with us as there are a few bugbear in our systems which sometimes wont let you post pictures, if you are using the 'Quick reply' option and it greets you with the message "You are not allowed to use this extension... blah blah" then try the 'full reply' option on the bottom right of the message, keep clicking the 'Post' button and eventually it will go

  3. Sounds like you've had a lucky escape there Paul, i always lock the bike(s) as soon as i get off them, i used to even carry the chain and lock under the seat of the XJ (or in the topbox of the DT) so that if i nip to the shops or to a friends house it was always secure, it only takes a few minutes for you to dash inside the house for a well needed piss and the scumbags could have your bike away.

as for the shotgun alarm, it would be held up in court of law as "entrapment" im sure, tempting the fuckers with a nice shiny motorbike which they could have away, and then blasting them in the face with a buckshot of lead when they try and take it, well where's the fucking justice hey?

  4. from what i can remember the certificate is for the bike, the rider is restricted as part of their licence terms anyway (for 2 years or until they are 21) and it will most likely be in your insurance small print

  5. in theory you could put YZ forks (including brakes and wheels) on it providing they have the same yoke diameter, failing that you could swap out the whole 3-tree (yokes) fro, the YZ provided that the internal spindle is of the same diameter.

  6. hi Davie, twowheelspares is DK Motorcycles, he gets a lot of the rare bikes in and usually sells them on complete, he had an XJ650 Turbo for sale about 6 months ago for about £3,000 which went before the auction was over, aswell as many parts, i believe he broke an XJ turbo recently as there there's an XJ60 turbo engine on there for £250 which i attempted to get down for £200 delivered but the least they would do was £230 delivered, needless to say that engine is still up for sale. i bought a set of clocks off them, a brake lever and several other bits but they are used mostly the same as mine.

appreciate the referance but me and DK have crossed paths many times before, i think i bought my seat off them aswell, usually they arent too bad on parts but then its the same as i found with the fuel pump, they are asking £100 + postage for a set of 85mph clocks (which are the sort you want to avoid)

  7. Its an engine blank, when the cabs (helicopters) are left outside we put giant foam blocks in the engine intakes and giant fabric hats over the exhausts to stop the ingress of dirt, moisture, animals and occasionally people (if there is no work on and you have downtime, its quite common to find the lineys asleep in an exhaust), we were taking the blanks off one of the cabs one day and one of the other lads was on the top throwing the blanks down to me and i was throwing them into the landrover, i missed one and it landed on my head, looked funny so took a photo.

they are actually surprisingly warm, ive used one as a pillow before

  8. tbh i would like to have my old XJ600 back, took me and the ex from lydney to bournemouth on £20 of fuel, would be great for touring if it didnt have such a pissy little tank, trouble is the fireblade wont be as good on fuel :(

Holland sounds good tbh, aslong as i stay away from the red light district and the weed

    Hi peeps.

Ive come to a realisation, ive been here for 3 years atleast and still have not travelled a great distance for recreation on a bike, i used to post about going to ireland for a week when i was riding the DT but in reality i doubt the old donkey would have got me there and back on one set of piston rings.

i now have a fireblade, am out of the country until march and will be moving to wolverhampton in april, during which i have 4 weeks off work.

so, where is the best place to go?, may be like asking a blind man to tell you what the colour blue looks like but even so i want to get away for a week or so, i will need to take kit appropriate to the climate (im not going to the peak of mt everest with a mars bar and a space blanket), just asking for opinions on what is good to see and with what kit at minimal expense. :)

So, where have you been/what have you taken and what are your experiances?
