Tyres?
the website got it wrong, the tyres on my Jawa are 4.00-18 on the rear and 3.50-18 on the front so... would a 100.90.18 fit the back wheel of my jawa?

YB100
does it bog down when you open the throttle, or overheat? need a bit more info on how it runs before we can diagnose the problem. my DT50 will do 45 but i have had to modify the engine and add new sprockets, so 45 for a vintage 100 may not be that bad

Sad Geoff :(
sorry to hear about your off m8, hopefully you will be back on the road in no time! i turn into a right miserable bastard when im off the DT, even if its just for a couple of days.

inline filters?
hey everyone, is it actually worth running an in-line filter between the petcock and carb seeing as most petcocks have filters on them anyway?

175 MX WILL NOT KICKSTART
compression tester, basically just a pressure gauge that screws into the spark plug hole and shows you how much pressure there is in the cylinder. the only sure way of doing it. alternatively, take the piston out and physically check for wear on the piston and rings, tell-tale signs include scorching that goes below the piston crown (black deposits that go down past the piston rings

&& Another Newbie ..
Nice little bike you got there, here i am still stuck on my pathetic little peashooter... once upon a time i thought i had the fastest 50 on the road, overtaking all the chavs on their Speedfights and Jog Rs with my feet up on the mudguard and waving... then one of my mates got an Aprillia RS50... welcome to the asylum, er... forum... enjoy your stay

Bigger bikes
super tenere is a possibility, id prefer to keep it cheap and simple so BMW isnt really practical. Yamahead: fancy selling it?
-
Bigger bikes
just been into probike and saw a very nice Suzuki DR-400S, nice tall seat and very comfy but not yamaha... Tenere looks like the best solution for me so will have to start saving. will be touring ireland in no time XD

Bigger bikes
Hi everyone. i've given up on cars now, im sticking to bikes for a few years and am now looking for my next one. so which one should i get?. im 5'8, soon to be 17 and dont like to be huddled up on a sports bike (although the GSX650F is very nice...) and also intend to do a fair bit of touring next year, im not bothering with 125s as i will be doing my full test and getting a real bike instead. would prefer to stay with an enduro bike, the XT range imparticular seem to be quite good but what are they like to tour on? input appreciated Steveo

George White's Open Day thingy

George White's Open Day thingy
hopefully they will have enough hotdogs left at Superbytes by the time i get over there, last time i got the last one and split it with my mate. almost managed to drop an Xt660 a few weeks ago... sat on it and stood it upright, went to put it back down and as i got off it went forward and came off the sidestand, managed to catch it and pull it back up, looked very sheepish and moved on to a GSX650F which was VEEEEERY nice surely we arent the only two going?

ha, i dont have that problem, i am happy to announce my trusty thrusty pocket rocket is now running on all cylinders... have you checked the kinippety pin?, they are made from unobtanium so replacements can be hard to find

BTW didnt get round to recovering my jawa seat, i need to get another job first so the DT is running on fumes and im scrounging lifts to school from my parents again...
