  1. Only shot people with blanks, im still in training but only have 4 weeks left! ^^, im moving to RAF after my trainingn so need to think about getting it moved, its more a case of rev the bike up (clutch in, wheel still turning) and jab the brake as hard as i can, which i know it shouldnt be doing cus it wasnt doing it when i first got it, i dont think...
  2. Hi bud its good to be back, im dying to get on this bike, ive had it going around camp a few times and out along the backroads behind the base and i want to give it a goooood thrash to clear away the cobwebs
  3. Hey peeps, been away for a while but now returning to the world of bikes (hopefully!) bought myself an '89 XJ600 back in february some time with the intention of taking my test in the summer and riding it from wolverhampton to Newbury at the weekends, but i screwed up on my mod 2 o currently dont have a full licence. have noticed that the clutch is sticking now, when the bike is in neutral with the clutch in and i put it into first the back wheel will rotate, sometimes if i jab the back brake it will free up the clutch and stop spinning, but what is causing it and how do i fix it? if it makes a difference i changed the oil and there was only about half a litre in it, it has now been replenished to the correct 2.2L but the problem persists any input appreciated Steve
  4. its not just bikes, when i crashed my car at the beginning of this month i saw no less than three cars go past me until one young lad stopped to see if i was okay (and its not as if i was hidden, the lights of the car were just visible over the bank) although one lady did later return to say she didnt know what to do so she called the police and drove on
  5. my bad OG. didnt keep any details from the new keeper suplement, and bike was sold privately so no trace of sale
  6. i bought my little DT with just under 22k on it... sold it with over 10k more on it... want it back now... ah the memories...
  7. hurting much, want her back... surely there is some way i can use the registration to get the new owners info?... ideas anyone? :/
  8. dude must have balls the size of grapefruits to fly that close to water at Mach 1... hopefully i will be in one of these armed forces youtube videos soon
  9. she was the first i ever rode... and as such, she will forever hold a place in my heart... :'( didnt keep any of the details when i sent off the V5, it was signed over to a dealer (if i remember rightly he was a harley davidson dealer, bought the DT50 for his son to restore back to original spec)
  10. hi peeps. iv eosld my DT, i want to try and contact the owner and find out if he still has the bike and how he is getting on with it. is there anyway (preferably free/cheap) that i can find out the details of the owner using just the information i have left (reg: G237MYA, Yamaha DT50 Blue) - Steve ... i really want it back now :'(
  11. forgot to say, passed theory, riding lesson was okay and the instructor reckons i can go for my mod 1 ... but due to my shitty work schedule the soonest i could do it was the 4th of June :'(... bollocks, should probably catch the end of the riding weather...

    bike test

hey peeps ive booked my motorcycle theory test for monday, got a full day lesson on thursday and hopefully will be able to take my Mod 1&2 test before the summer rolls around... is the bike theory test any different to the car theory test? and how many lessons would i need to take before i have a good chance of passing my test(s)?, hope its not like my car one where i took 20 odd lessons, the day is costing me £100 .

    Heyyy

have you modded the bike at all?, i spoke with someone who had one and he said it would void the warranty or something along those lines... got to admit, for a four stroke it would run rings around my little DT, theres a 350 in my shed if you fancy a go on a real bike, two smoke all the way! XD
  14. turned out to be a tyrekicker... foamy is displeased > ah well, its back on ebay now... anyone on the forum fancy giving it a good home?
  15. a carb rebuild would be best i think, after all the bike is no doubt around 20 years old and the seals e.t.c wont be at their best, its surprising how tempermental these little bikes can be especially in the extremes of the british weather. rebuild kits are available online and retail at around £10, its worth it IMHO
  16. well peeps... the bloke is coming to collect it tomorrow at 10... :'( its going to be an emotional sendoff... may ask him to keep my number and address so that if he wants to sell it in the future i can have first refusal
  17. wouldnt hurt to try a new CDI, theres usually some going cheap on ebay
  18. fuck me, its gone! , someone hit the buy it now and its gone... bye bye DT :'(
  19. yes there is a jawa hiding in the shed but now ive managed to get the forks back (albeit still not rechromed) i will be moving that one up to cosford and sorting it out (hopefully). 28 views and 5 watchers in half an hour, not bad methink, already had someone offer me £200 for it but im letting the auction run. but if this sell goes well it may persuade me to get the Jawa back on ebay where it came from
  20. i know OG, i will surely be kicking myself if/when it sells. i will revise the listing and see how things go... i saw a white DT50 field bike in a breakers yard and it brought a lump to my throat, but the seller wanted £150 for it which was just too much...
  21. well peeps, lack of space and with the arrival of the XJ, the time has come to move the DT on to a better life... wish i had chosen a more dignified send-off than eBay though . chances are in a few years time i will be wanting to buy it back...
