  1. Ah, the wonders of 6v electronics eh shambles?
  2. Hey everyone, Now that the demand for T-shirts has died done somewhat, I remember earlier i put this idea forward sorta jokingly at first, but im actually seeing it as a possibility now and was wondering what your thoughts would be. Basically i was thinking of putting together a YOC calender, it will have to be for 2014 as we are very nearly into 2013 and it would also give us the entire year of 2013 to gather the nescessary input, idea being that the photos and artwork for each month are posted in from our beloved members, formed into a calender and used to decorate your man cave, house, workplace or shed. the prices from vistaprint would be £6 for a wall calender and £3 for a desk sized (exc postage) although discounts would be available for bulk buys or when combined with other merchandise such as mugs, pens, shirts e.t.c. would anyone be interested in participating? the way i was thinking of working it was to invite members to post photos and artwork of their bikes in interesting and seasonally relevant scenes (for example, if you want to submit a design for Januarys page, maybe a DT50 covered in snow) and then cast these designs open to vote, then at the end of that month the votes would close and the photo with the most votes would get entered into the calender, then entries would begin for February, and at the end of February the votes would close, the winning photo gets added to the calender e.t.c. Possibly even doing a slightly more raunchy/comedy calender for a charity event or to raise funds for the forum. Let me know what you think peeps - Foamy x
  3. Welcome to forum Leona, hopefully someone will have an XJ6 on here
  4. the only experiance ive had with road-legal offroad tyres is the ones that were on my DT50, and tbh they did a pretty decent job of cutting through the crap on the roads
  5. I'd be willing to make you an offer, although no doubt its probably a category C/B now
  6. Let me know how that goes, im thinking of stripping the DT50 right down and starting from scratch now that i have all the parts i need, but dont have the money to get it shotblasted/powdercoated and was thinking about enamel painting it
  7. 60mph, 65mph downhill. trouble starting? crank seals, its dead, throw it in the bin and get another one
  8. Fucking hell! , those forks are like bananas!!, hope you are okay and atleast got a claim out of it, may want to claim for injuries aswell, gravel rash in the ass isnt pleasent Doesn't make any difference, they usually add something along the lines of "Have you had any claims or accidents within the last 5 years regardless of fault?" in their quote, thats how the fuckers got away with bumping my premium up by £300 when my suzuki swift got wrote off As for the YBR, they always sound like they are about to self-destruct, i learnt to ride on one of them
  9. yeah, colour change is free, just the cost of a stamp and an envelope.
  10. urgh, dreading taking the spark plugs out, one of the sooties at work has the same model and has told me horror stories about spark plug removal
  11. The battery needs replacing anyway, but i was jumpstarting it off the car so there was plenty of juice, i cant tell wether the fuel pump is a conventional constant pressure one or a metering pump, some online forums suggest that there are contacts in the back of the pump behind the plastic cover, but most of it is broken english
  12. The fireblade wont start, so f*ck it i'll stick to driving from now until summer methink
  13. also, there only seems to be about 5v going to the fuel pump when its cranking over, if i manually wire the fuel pump up to the battery nothing happens
  14. Hey peeps Tearing my hair out with this fireblade, have been trying to start it for the past hour to little or no avail, ive been jumpstarting it off the car as the fireblade battery does not have the power to spin it over for any period of time. No matter what combination of throttle position, choke or swearing i give it the fucker still wont start, just the occasional very loud backfire which the station guards thought was a gunshot and sent out a patrol. now, if this was the XJ600 i would have it running by now, check the fuel is getting to the cylinders, give the sparkers a dust off with a wirebrush whilst im at it, check the spark and maybe if im feeling cheeky give it a dust of carb cleaner to give it that extra kick, but not the fireblade, f*ck knows where the spark plugs are, i think i have to remove the airbox, tank, possibly even part of the carbs to get to them. as m entioned before, it backfires occasionally so something is definately igniting. im all out of ideas
  15. Christ sach, your up late eh?, im only up because im back from a beer call and looking at a very nice CB1000F on ebay in need of "some tlc" oh yeah, my favourite gif atm: for obvious reasons... because of Mumbles and Piddler, my two minis :3, Mumbles sounds like its mumbling at idle, and Piddler because it has a leaky waterpump and leaves a puddle of antifreeze-coloured 'piss' in the car park every time i run it up
  16. Started at 16 when i got a moped and started hanging around with the rest of the "ped crew" most of which smoked, then when i joined the raf i kept smoking to preserve my sanity, gave up for a week during my first afghan tour but then decided to make the most of the £15/200 cigarettes and stockpiled them, i only have to buy cigarettes once every 8 months!
  17. well it would have been too dark to see anything at night
  18. ... although tbf, the Dt didnt have pedals!
  19. well i expected to see it climbing over fences and chasing rabbits and shit, but now, the f*cker just curled up to sleep >.<, and this was like, midday... lazy cat
  20. ah yes, if it was a DT50 with the reg G237MYA i would be curled up in the corner crying and masturbating
  21. put a camera on my cats collar once, was shit, the fucker just sat at the end of the garden in a flowerbed for five hours until the batteries ran out... -.-
  22. theoretically yes, i prefer to spray mine down and cover everything in ACF50 to protect it, making the salt wet will surely only help it bite into the metal?
