  9. But then the same problem arises, at what point of its modification would that no longer be considered a pre-1960 bike?

  13. blimey, looks like there's a lot more involved than i thought :S...
  14. The model name im not too fussed about, its more the year im wanting to keep as anything before 1972 is tax exempt
  15. Hey peeps, There's been something brewing in the depths of my skull for a while now, and it came out in conversation with some lads at the pub last week. basically, ive been planning a project for the past year or so, and now i've gotten rid of one of my old minis im more likely to be able to do it, i want to find a pre-1972 bike (probably a CZ or Honda CB as they are cheap and plentifull) and use its frame as a basis for a custom built tax-exempt toy with an inline twin engine of around 500cc, spoked wheels with retro cafe-racer styling. So, say for example i got myself a 1971 CB250 and used its frame and V5 as my base, all the other parts will either be handmade, universal parts or from other bikes, but when would this bike no longer be considered as a '71 honda CB and thus have to be declared as something else on the V5C?. thoughts appreciated peeps, much love <3 Foameh

throw me a friggin bone man, im probably the only person working on this base over xmas, there's no females around and my 'friend with benefits' is now being humped by a black guy (he's pretty cool though tbf), there's also a famine of bog roll on camp... plus there's no heating or hot water so i have to do something to keep warm
  17. Well i nipped into my local yam dealer, and it is 5J0-84551-20-33, they are about £50 from europe assuming the CMSL website actually does have them in stock, may try a few breakers methink :/

    i know she's a puppet n'all but tbh i probably still would...
  20. you could use a copper drift to tap it out, the copper is soft so shouldnt damage the threads too much, either that or use a wooden block on top of the thread and hammer the block instead
  21. Nice one dirtyDT, if you could please pm me a link to the high res copy i will add it to the calender portfolio

got ya you bastard... good bit of camoflague though
  23. Well peeps, im starting this thread early as i will be working over xmas and away shortly in the new year. at the moment it looks like the calenders are coming from vistaprint and will cost around £10 for a wall calender or £6 for a desk calender, if you order any other YOC merchandise at the same time you will get a postage discount (please pm with your requirements and i can get you a quote). postage overseas or to islands will cost more. i may be able to find a local company who is able to do it cheaper although i cant tell for sure probably until the new year VOTING: now, here's how it works, at the top of the page you will see a poll (once artwork has been entered), simply vote for the artwork which you want to see displayed on the January 2014 calender, the artwork with the most votes will be added to the calender, do not use duplicate accounts or doppelgangers to increase votes. ENTERING ARTWORK: If you would like to enter artwork into the competition there are two ways. Firstly, you can contact me via PM/email/carrier pidgeon with your artwork attached also including your name, location of the photo and bike pictured, i will then add your artwork to this post and it is then open to the votes. Alternatively, reply to this thread with a post containing a link to your artwork, your name, location and bike make/model, i will take this information from your post and add it into the competition. QUALITY: Its sort of self-explanatory, the artwork you enter may well end up on the calender, if you've taken a photo on your camera phone chances are once its going to look like its come off a N64 by the time its blown up to calender size, use a good quality digital camera for best effect CLOSING DATE: i will close the competition for January on 15/1/2013 to allow time for admin and finalisation before opening a vote for February. Well that's the formal side completed peeps, enter your artwork now and get voting! , any problems or queries send a PM my way as an example/test, here's one of the donkey in weathered livery ^^ Mervin ^^
