Foamy is going "insert location" for a week
tbh i would like to have my old XJ600 back, took me and the ex from lydney to bournemouth on £20 of fuel, would be great for touring if it didnt have such a pissy little tank, trouble is the fireblade wont be as good on fuel Holland sounds good tbh, aslong as i stay away from the red light district and the weed

Foamy is going "insert location" for a week
Hi peeps. Ive come to a realisation, ive been here for 3 years atleast and still have not travelled a great distance for recreation on a bike, i used to post about going to ireland for a week when i was riding the DT but in reality i doubt the old donkey would have got me there and back on one set of piston rings. i now have a fireblade, am out of the country until march and will be moving to wolverhampton in april, during which i have 4 weeks off work. so, where is the best place to go?, may be like asking a blind man to tell you what the colour blue looks like but even so i want to get away for a week or so, i will need to take kit appropriate to the climate (im not going to the peak of mt everest with a mars bar and a space blanket), just asking for opinions on what is good to see and with what kit at minimal expense. So, where have you been/what have you taken and what are your experiances?

Ive heard of supply and demand, but this is taking the p***!
im currently trying to recover my old fuel pump as-per the thread on XJBikes, when powered up nothing moves and there's no noise from it but the multimeter says its drawing 5amp at 12vdc... this seems excessive :/, i suspect the internal widgets are gummed up aswell although im not sure wether this is a metering type pump or a constant flow one
-

That's assuming the regulator is still any good, there's a link on that XJBikes forum with regards to de-gumming the old fuel pump, i may try and recover it if i can although i am highly doubtfull anything will be able to dissolve the thick varnish that is in it

Indeed it does use a pressure regulator, which is a seperate parts and hopefully mine is still intact, many thanks for that link pilningas, could have just saved me £1000

Well shit the bed, looking at the XJs' parts catalogue it looks to have exactly the same fittings and connections, how the fook did you manage to find that?

fuck it, if i cant get my old one to work i will probably end up modifying a different pump to fit :/

stopped smoking
stale smoke is horrible, but the aroma of freshly lit tobacco is enjoyable, i find... I tried quitting at work a few times, but quite often i would be restless and irate, looking to start an argument for an excuse to go outside and have a tab, the E-cigs work but mine would never last a whole 12-hour shift

your other hobbies?
Guitar, music, alcohol, used to be into the RC scene but since starting work i havent found the time/dedication to fly the planes anymore, any there's still a RC monster truck in the back of my car which is seldom used any more

Measuring fuel - how without gauge
if you're riding a DT50 or anything else that doesnt have a trip meter, its purely guess work "A is x miles away from B, but going to C is 2x miles from (AB), i can do x miles on y fuel" e.t.c

Cleaned brakes + dot 4 fluid change = Brakes not working xt125x 07
this is what i use for reverse bleeding, purely because it was leftover from my model aircraft days, but worked a treat

Cleaned brakes + dot 4 fluid change = Brakes not working xt125x 07
similar problem on the XJ600 and on the classic mini which i put down the the master cylinder seals collapsing, used a syringe to reverse bleed the lines from the nipple on the caliper up to the master cylinder and reinflating the seals
