  2. Heya peeps i am now settling in at my new base in Wolverhampton, bringing the blade up next weekend! also parking the Kia up as it has developed a problem with the LPG system, and im not running the f*cker on petrol, too expensive! any rideouts/meets up near me? anywhere within a 70 mile radius would be ideal
  3. Currently cooking up a new project, "a cafe racer for the future"...

  4. oh thats not all though, you've got to keep it clean to keep the rust and corrosion away, the battery will sulphate and become useless, the tank will rust from the inside if you dont leave it full of fuel, but if you leave fuel in the carb it may turn into varnish like my XJ carbs did. even if its parked up, to keep it good you've got to run it up every now and then to keep everything in working order

  6. From the album: Foamys new donkey :3

Despite being a small bike, the DT is proving to be a pain in the ass, some of the wires only go a few centimetres, others do about 3 laps of the entire bike!

Decided to get the blade out whilst i was working on the donkey
  8. no doubt some day it will be like the DT50s... i practically gave mine away for £350 three years ago, and now they are going for £600+ for one like mine
  9. I have the fireblade on the road, so im a definate yes to this earliest i will be there is 7pm though, hopefully early enough to pitch a tent If i can get the XJ Turbo going it will be a bonus , dont fancy it on the Dt50 though

  11. Hi bud, please take a few minutes to post a quick introduction, just to let us know a bit more about you and your bike, it will help the regulars be a bit more welcoming. as for your question, my '89 DT was 'peacock blue' tank and plastics with a black frame, my 1982 was originally black frame and white plastics, the paris dakar DTs had a bodykit and were usually fitted to white bikes with black frames My '89
  12. ... anyone else?, the whole idea of a voting system doesnt really work if there's only one choice
  13. its good for ranting, and stalking ex partners to see how fat and miserable they've gotten
  14. Heya peeps Im trying to change the privacy settings on facebook so that certain people can write things on my wall but only those people will be able to view it and the rest of my friends list wont, is there a feature that lets me do this?
  15. There's a loose nut behind the handlebars...
  16. Crikey, our forum admin is in Australia aswell! Alex?!, get in here, you've found a friend XD
  17. Ah, i see whats happened here... when you bought the battery it should have come with a fitting kit which had two bolts and two nuts, the nuts slide into the slot in the battery post (the one in your second picture) and the bolt goes through the top like you have done, except they screw into the nut instead of into the post itself I could draw a picture, but according to DirtyDT my drawings are poo
  18. only way to find out where it gets its power from is to follow the wires back and see where they go, or look at a wiring diagram,
  19. only ever found that the battery bolts are too short when ive added a load of other spade connectors to the post (such as heated grips, optimate e.t.c). definately need some pics here bud...
  20. Heya peeps, The rain subsided today so i decided to check out the mega motorcycle store that bought out george whites earlier this year, i must say much of the kit is still at good prices, i even treated the fireblade to a set of oxford heated grips, reduced from £80 to £50 , was going to buy a nice alpinestar leather jacket which was £90 down from £299 but they didnt have my size and i couldnt carry it back on the blade they even had some of the old stock GW bikes in there for sale, has anyone else checked it out yet?
  21. always wanted to go but never have, maybe now ive got the blade on the road i could
  22. Well, there's a whole lot of spirit conversation, ended by the ever perpetual up.yours, with the amount of ethanol added to modern fuel though is it worth using the more expensivvr high RON stuff> bearing in mind i am doing (maybe) 70-150mph on a run, not saying i do but more if i find myself in the nurburgring or thruxton e.t.c
  23. Heya peeps, i may be opening up a whole can of worms here, but is there actually any benefit to using premium fuel over the regular stuff besides maybe a few more BHP?, i used to run the DT and XJ on the cheapest stuff i could find, mainly because they were old bike and i wasnt bothered about doing very silly speeds, but since buying this fireblade its got me wondering, a friend of mine has an SV650 and all he uses is premium fuel, apparently its giving him a smoother ride and better MPG, wether it actually saves him enough money to make it worth while i dont know shame i cant run it on LPG, its now more expensive for me to ride than it is to drive
  24. Stop it Sacha, you know exactly what you're doing to me... -.-
