Well peeps, we had a bit of a scene at Cosford today. walking down to work in a group of about 7-8 people this morning, some kitchen-porter (renowned tosser on camp) on a YBR125 comes though the gate about 30mph (15mph speed limit), cuts the corner at the junction doing the same speed before hitting a bit of gravel and skidding off out of site around the side of the hangar, about 10 seconds later we hear him shouting at the top of his lungs and thinking the rider was in pain we went around to help out, only to find the bike laying on its side with the guy storming around ripping his kit off and kicking his helmet across the road, then picking the bike up and cranking it over before revving it to the limiter , i'd be pissed if i binned my bike sure, but there's having a bad day and theres throwing your toys out of the pram and acting like a tosser. It was about this point i realised the guy wasnt hurt and left him to it, but actually felt a bit ashamed that this is what others would see as 'a biker', he then tried blaming the condition of the roads for the crash instead of his poor riding abilites surely the requirement to take test after test would be enough to deter the majority of w*nkers from jumping on a bike, but evidently not!. grips my piss for sure

so you basically have to dig down through the snow to get to the car you want to rob parts from?... lot of work!

Nah its an LC, mine is definately an air cooled model cases for the LC have a water pump underneath the oil pump housing.

the DT50, RD50, and TY50 share the same engine cases, the clutch and stator covers are a different style on the TY but are interchangeable between all, im not 100% sure about the YZ but visually they look the same and getting them shipped over from the states is fookin expensive. according to haynes, the DT/RD50 and DT/RD80 primary transmissions are the same ratio, it is only the front and rear sprocket ratios that differ. TBH, aslong as it fits in there and it runs im not that fussed.

Now have indicator lenses, flasher relay, a TY engine block (missing barrel and intake manifold), carb. gonna get everything pieced back together and get it stripped/painted over a weekend at some point.

Keep it well maintained and give it a good service, thats about the easiest way to get the most from your pre-div. the motad Neta exhausts are shit so make sure it isnt leaking around the collector box, make sure your carbs arent leaking, air filter is clean. as for braking, i personally thought there was nothing wrong with the XJs brakes, fit stainless braided hoses (about £40 on freabay) and this drastically helps.
