  1. clutch works perfectly tbh, i may treat it to a fresh set of friction plates and springs whilst its off though. As for the tax disc i doubt it adds any value to the bike at all, but seeing as the bike was made in 1988 and i want it to look as close to brand new as practical its a nice finishing touch that makes it look as though its in its first year of tax currently its illegal to display an out of date tax disc, but after October the government is getting rid of the tax disc and doing it all online to screw more money out of us so tax discs will no longer be required, which means i can show whatever the heck i want on the side of my bike
  2. I will make my own with crayons next year
  3. f*ck knows what sort of guys you were hanging around with, but some of us actually get in the shower and scrape the cheese off once in a while!
  4. found them on google, but the 1982 one had a watermark on it which i had to photoshop out then printed them both on some photo paper using a standard inkjet printer. There's a US company that sells them (LINKY) for $14.99, but im too tight to shell out that kind of cash for a piece of paper Can also buy the .jpg templates from eBay, but you still have to print them off yourself.
  5. Welcome mike. DT50MXs should only have one first gear, the shift pattern is the standard "1-N-2-3-4-5", ive had about half a dozen of the little buggers in various states of repair so if you need any help i will do my best
  6. TBH ive got an Xbox 360, and it hasnt even been plugged in for 8 months, im always either working on the cars or the bikes or out and about on my adventures. i remember when PS2 games were £20-£30 when they came out and i used to wait until the price dropped because that was waaay too much (bearing in mind i had only pocket money to buy them with). when COD came out and people were queuing overnight to be the first to get it, then spending £50 on a game and all the associated tat that comes with it (wifi controllers, online membership e.t.c) i lost all interest in gaming, i may occasionally buy a game for my phone for 89p but the way i see it i can spend the same money i would to buy a game on some DT50 wheel bearings and spend a couple of evenings rebuilding wheels. much the same reason i haven't built my own gaming PC, ive got an old toshiba laptop that i bought in a clearance sale about 4 years ago and the spec is actually as good as most mid-range laptops today, it wont run anything massively demanding but GTA vice city, minecraft, Spyro, H.A.W.X and games of that ilk it handles just fine, i even run a Playstation emulator through it, and thats enough to keep me occupied
  7. welcome to the forum bud, take a minute to head over to the Newbies section and post an intro, just so we can get to know a bit about you, your bikes e.t.c. you will need a dating certificate (these guys offer a service to give you a cert) and with that fill in a V62 and send it to the DVLA along with a cheque for £25, they should be able to issue you a V5 with an age related number plate.
  8. so if i shit in a womans bed, then vomit on the bathroom floor... they'll like it?
  9. replicas indeed, and thats what im planning
  10. Clutch case off, clutch basket assembly off, gear change lever off and then just slide it through the cases IIRC oh, and look what i got (for '82 project FUCR and the '88 DT respectively) icing on the cake
  11. Yeah, that's usually me... hence how i ended up with 6 DT50s, an FTO, a caravan and grouchs' old XT125 -.-
  12. Yeah i used a set of mole grips (locking pliers you may call them in canada?) to use as a make-shift lever for my test ride, all checked out fine, but dissapointingly it doesnt 'feel' like my old one used to, maybe its because i had some imitation renthal bars originally.
  13. oh they're still money grabbing bastards, but atleast im getting something to show for it!
  14. Yeah ive thought about drilling a hole through the shaft but for the price of a shaft (which is easy enough to slide out) i may aswell do it properly
  15. The DVLA have been kind enough to release the V5C to me! turns out my new donkey is on an F-reg! and has been off the road since 1998!
  16. Ah, now i understand... i usually just cut a slit in them with a disc cutter (angle grinder) and split them open with a chisel
  17. just for the record... i have a small willy... feel free to get in touch, you can find me hidden in the stars <3
  18. TBH, most of the 'pretty' women i see/know tend to associate with absolute douchebags, and that is one thing i hope never to be as for the tattoos and piercings, it helps if you have tits, Kev yours dont count.
