Welcome to the asylum, er... sorry, forum! what are the XT600s like to ride?, quite like the dual sport style bikes because they are soo much comfier than the sports bikes, may be looking to get one of the XT660s next year.
  2. could it be water in the petrol cap? as for the stalling is it instantly cutting out or gradually fading? next time it stalls check the spark and note the colour on the end of the spark plug. i would reccomend thoroughly draining the tank and fuel system, drying it out and rebuilding it piece by piece to eliminate any moisture in the system

oh i see, no i wasnt calling her a beast in such a derogatory way, merely that she can be very dominating... all this riding has been messing with my mind, i seem to have a passion for leather (usually onle jackets, but i keep an open mind)

she wont be happy when i tell her i aint got a pic... better tart myself up a bit and plug the webcam in
  6. if it turns over then its not a seized piston, could be lack of compression although i doubt it if you said you had it running monday is the spark plug wet on the end? (indicating fuel in the chamber) if not it could be soiled reed blocks that have just gunked up, try adding a couple of teaspoons of premix petrol into the chamber through the spark plug hole and see if you can get it to fire that way usually a good bump-start can get any bike running, i assume your doing it the "Foamy" way by putting it in second, holding the clutch in, running down the road like a looney before dropping the clutch and running/pushing the bike along... and if that bike is a jawa, repeating the process 5 or 6 times before getting bored and buggering off inside to have a warm cup of coffee

ive owned a DT... if that doesnt make me a mechanic i dont know what does... cheapest quote i got on a 1L suzuki swift was £1600, but if i have it on my mums policy it quotes around £2,800 because i would still be the registered keeper/owner/driver... WTF? to hell with this, maybe i just invest in a set of heated hand grips for the Jawa
  16. erm, i must admit that aint exactly my cup of tea, would have atleast prefered it to have "Yamaha" written on the back of the seat but atleast you're introducing another young'un to our noble sport did you not consider a DT50?, they are hot shit and fairly easy to come by, cheap aswell (both to buy and to run). what colour you respraying? any idea in terms of custom graphics? ah yes i see it now... its just one big blank canvas really... im doing my Jawa seat hopefully this weekend but would be interested to see how yours turns out

i for one think the peugeot X07 series looks absolutely shite, and the Micra, and most of the newer cars that are coming out, too curvey and futuristic, much prefer the styling of the older cars (Mustang, Camaro, Capri...) even on a 1L Suzuki Swift i was quoted about £2,000 on insurance. wtf?

a new Jawa seat would have to be ordered from germany, not too keen on that idea as i am likely to get buggered for shipping, import tax, duties e.t.c got a heavy duty staple gun so the tooling isnt a problem, only real problem i have is that the Jawa seat isn't completely flat, its got sorta a raised pillion section on the seat You can just about see it in the above photo

nothing much appeals to me in scotland, not sure theres much up there but im keeping my options open. now that im out of a job i need to keep it cheap as possible, so i doubt i will be going overseas just yet. the DT will be wanked out by the time i get to scotland so i think for now i will stick to the south and travel along the coastline for two weeks.

i only tend to eat currys if im being antisocial on camping trips... is nice to have an entire four-man tent to yourself sometimes... no doubt when im touring later this year i will be living off pot noodles and currys, that little tent will be a fire hazard in the morning

Hi everyone. whats the best way to re-cover a seat?, the one on my Jawa needs doing as it is ripped and looking a bit sh*gged out. rather than sending it off and getting it done id prefer to do it myself, anyone know any good walkthroughs/tips for recovering seats?

Hi everyone. quite a while to wait until im 17 but im starting to consider my options in regards to personal transport. The DT will be going soon after my b'day and i've been quoted £250 to insure me on my Jawa 350 (TP F&T) which would be ideal as it shouldn't take more than £100 to get the jawa tarted up and running. however, im starting to consider getting a small car as i dont quite fancy freezing my tits off by riding through another winter, Ford Capri 1600 Laser would be nice but thats £2,500 to insure and no doubt will need the floorpans welding back in at some point or another. so i looked at the insurance for a Peugeot 106, bit more reasonable as its 1.1L, fairly easy to find parts for and you can pick them up for under a grand. insurance came back as £1,700 (TP F&T) did any of you actually bother getting cars when you were 17? and is it even possible to get insured at 17 on a small car for under £1,000? this world of motoring is so confusing... not to mention f*cking expensive... - Steve
  23. wow, she sure must like you... she got a sister by any chance? would be nice to fly around a race track on my DT, but no doubt after half a lap it would spill its guts all over the tarmac and leave me standing at the side of the road again...

    i ordered a Korma!
  25. Northern Ireland is a bit too far on a 50 methink, doesnt really appeal to me imparticular but i'll do a bit of research and see if it would be possible...
