  1. ah i get it... Agro Cultural Agricultural... ahaha... good one...
  2. im taking my full test when im 17 (26th October) and will be able to ride that under the ">33bhp" rule. ive got my eye on a nice XJ600 though, so who knows... BTW the Jawa will no longer be known as the blue dragon, it is now to be known as "Agro" ¬¬
  3. is THIS the caliper you're looking for? as for the underguard i cant help you, you may be able to fabricate something if you are creative

    Yamaha XJR

keep an eye out on ebay for a clockset to use for spares, as for the needle some creative fabricating and a bit of superglue can sort that (maybe those coloured plastic toothpicks you can buy)
  5. wulfsport helmet = £50 (was an xmas pressie though) Tuzo leather jacket = £50 (reduced from £130 in busters sale) Steel toed workboots = £25 Jeans = £3 from asda i sometimes go rumaging through the local charity shops looking for any preowned bike kit
  6. okay, gave the bloke from the jawa owners club a ring and both the alternators have already gone ... I found the PART i need on the MZ-B website, submitted an enquiry form so im just waiting to hear back from them, alternatively i'll be on the lookout the owners club and ebay for a 640/639/638 engine to rob for spares... can't understand why my alternator has (supposedly) failed though... was getting 1ohm readings off the stator coils and 1.5miliohms off the rotor... (that's a good reading, right?)
  7. thanks BWJ, is there much available in the range of pimpification?, i have this habit of decorating my rides with a little bit of bling so am wondering how easy it will be to find addons such as exhausts, DB screen e.t.c
  8. hi everyone. has anyone had any experiance with the pre-div XJ600s?, i.e. what they are like to ride long distance, things to look out for when buying one e.t.c ta Steve-o
  9. hi mate welcome to the forum. the DT is a good choice, i absolutely love my DT50MX and although it aint the fastest geared bike on the road (my mates aprillia RS50 has atleast 10-15mph on it) it gets me where i need to go and never rarely fails to get me there (only if im being a prat and run it too lean after trying to "tune" it and subsequentlywreck the bore), but i wont be parting with it until october. anyhoo, i digress welcome to the forum

Hello and welcome to the asylum, er... forum... remember to speak up a little when talking to oldgitonabike, he's a little hard of hearing in his old age
  11. any universal headlight unit can and will probably fit, these are available online or at most motorcycle dealers, universal mounting brackets are also available and then its a simple matter or wiring the lights in to the loom

    WHO GOT WET

    ... sorry, misunderstood the title
  13. reminds me of my homebrewing adventures... The cider was about 15% and i distilled the moonshine a little too much, was like rocket fuel... never again...
  14. okay mate jumping out of second could indicate a worn detent plunger, this was and still is the case with my DT where it will occasionally pop into neutral, this should not require dismantling as the detent screws into the top of the gearbox casing (atleast it does on my DT) Exhaust sealents are available from any good garage or auto repair specialist, "Gun gum" is a very popular product, simply remove the exhaust, smear the putty around the part you want to seal and re-install the rough running when wet could indicate a worn plug cap and/or HT lead allowing water to get into the electrics and short them out, replace the plug cap and HT lead see if it makes a difference
  15. nah i cant afford that! The DT has done over 6k on its current bore on the comma stuff and its all the same at the end of the day. A new bore is only 30 odd quid so after about 400-500 miles when ive used 4l of oil its cheaper to change the bore when needed
  16. pass your test and get a CBR400 baby blade
  17. it seizes no matter what i do to it, its on its 3rd bore already
  18. thanks for the reply mate, but i would rather not drill holes in my engine cover to run an external alternator, plus my alternator also has the contactless ignition sysem bolted onto the arse end, so removing the alternator would require me to fabricate an adapter to allow the ignition system to drive from the crankshaft in place of the alternator itself... however, if i can find an alternator with the same mounting pattern as my existing one that will fit inside the cover without needing to cut it up and i am able to drill the end of the shaft, tap it and use that to run my ignition system that would be ideal. maybe a trip down the scrapyard is in order, maybe rob one off the rideon mower... any chance i could use the rotor out of another alternator?, im assuming that is the faulty part as the stator windings are intact and have the correct resistance reading but thankyou for your reply nonetheless
  19. haha, i admit the Jawa is a bit... erm... agricultural , looks like it may need a new alternator as ive checked the reg/rec and havent got a decent no-load current coming off the alternator, but atleast now i know what it is. BTW Tesco do semi-synth for £4/Litre, cheaper than Comma and now im using the tesco stuff as the shops were shut today when i needed some ¬¬
  20. i use Comma brand oil in both my bikes (semi synth), in the jawa i mix 300ml in with every 10litres but the yammy is autolube :/ a 1l bottle of oil is about 4.95 and lasts just over 3 10l fillups
  21. what the feck was that?, sounds like someone farting into a milkshake
  22. Hahaha, did y'all see the chicken legs? , I LOL'D couldnt help notice all that wiring you've done... i should have asked you to come wire up my Jawa! ^-^
  23. usually there is a bolt on the underside of the forks, undo this and you can pull the stanchion and valve out as one
  24. Nah, i've plenty of birds to do that for me unlike thar sen, BWJ, Tha quines wouldnae ride ya in ta battle
