  6. ive said it before and i'll say it again, you've been smoking something a bit too strong , maybe one too many disco biscuits?
  7. thats all well and good BWJ, but you didnt answer my question
  8. If a mouse goes outside, does it become a rat?... and if there's a rat in the house is it a mouse? something i've always wondered...
  9. going by the diagram i would say that the cone on the end of the intake is to restrict the air flow into the engine, removing it would increase the airflow and most likely require an up-jetting to compensate and prevent the bike running lean
  10. BWJ, i could have told you that for free
  11. trust me the Jawa is full of rust, plan is to get the frame cleaned and powdercoated when i have the time/money... maybe when im at RAF cosford trouble is nobody seems to be breaking the older DTs, ive seena few of the newer model swingarms but no older ones :\
  12. thanks for the reply but i think the TZR and DT125 frames (and most probably swingarms) are very different from the DT50MX one, im concentrating on repairing it to get it through its MOT (even though the MOT isnt until november)
  13. drill it out or grind the weld out with a rotary tool (Dremel) i had to do this last week on a mate Leo vince exhaust for his beneli
  14. hi everyone. took my rear wheel off last week to change the brake shoes and noticed that on my swingarm there it has rusted (almost completely through) on the upright support that connects to the monoshock, ive had a look on ebay for a replacement arm but they seem to be few and far between (not to mention expensive) so it looks like i will have to repair it as best i can. i have basic knowledge of welding, but is there any specific measures i need to take to patch up the swingarm? (seems to be thin) regards Steve
  15. unfortunately this is something that most of the smaller bikes suffer from, including most modern mopeds. the headlight brightness will vary according to engine speed because at low revs there is less electricity being generated to power the headlight, wheras at higher RPMs there is more being generated and the headlight is lit sufficiently. on my DT50 at idle the headlight is very dim, but once im riding i dont tend to realise it
  16. oh my bad, i meant Ttaskmaster, i wouldnt think you would appreciate BWJ turning what you said into one big inuendo though he's scottish, so he is allowed a certain degree of lunacy
  17. ooh, i dont think barwell will like that!, you better edit it quickly, he's 'arder than a coffin nail so its wise to stay on his good side
  18. Foamy for prime minister!, for a two stroke pump at every petrol station and later bedtimes for all!
  19. sounds like a specialist part tbh, or maybe you could try fitting the spring of similar length from a heavier race bike?
  20. you "ride" a trike, as it is not technically a car and is a 3-wheeled bike of sorts im surprised Goff can reach the pegs/pedals on that thing, it looks massif!
  21. have you tried richening your idle mixture screw?
  22. fekin 'el, your spelling is worse than barkwindjammers
