  1. Great, you post a hot link and i cant view it because the MOD watches everything i look at on the internet, cheers lads, its not adding to the sexual frustration at all...

    It Lives!

Im sure im not the only one thinking this... Drewpy, why on earth have you bought a hairdryer? if you wanted something that makes a lot of noise but doesnt really do much you could of had my ex missus.
  3. wont be any use to me im afraid, i will still be in Afghan
  4. too right, limited edition paint job, incredibly light and highly collectable, gonna keep that and let it appreciate in value a bit, like the XJ, ive kept it 2 years and ive had an offer of £100 more i bought it for
  5. Yeah i'd be u for that, depends where abouts you are though as if your over in Swanage and im over in Oxford its going to be a hell of a fecking trip!
  6. I agree with the above sentiment John_, im after a rear hugger and seat cowl for my fireblade but they are silly prices!
  7. Lol, the DT was different, it was my first love, it popped my biking cherry, would still buy it back if i could, but i cant keep all my toys
  8. Welcome to the forum money!, for that price rip the guys hand off!, its worth that for parts alone, mine was sat outside for 12 years so no doubt yours is in better condition especially in the states, most of my parts including the seat have come from the states and are in much better condition than what you would find in the UK as for would i do it all again? probably, if i could go back in time i would have probably started with something a bit more simple like a CBR or a FZR, but im kind of glad i did choose this bike as every part you take off and strip down for cleaning you learn about how it works and the part it plays in making the bike run right, as for the key i took the ignition barrel to a locksmith and got a key cut to fit that, then i took the helmet lock/pockets/tank cap apart and changed the locking pins to accept the new key. go for it, you will regret it at times, but that's all part of the fun right? failing that put me in contact with the guy and i will buy it
  9. Now you've got a real licence, you'll want a real bike then, right? just so happens i got an XJ600 coming up for sale......
  10. Mmmm... look at that tight body, barely squeezing into all that latex... i need to go have some "me time"...
  11. Ouch noise... that epic brainfart moment is going to be forever imortalised on the internet now isnt it?
  12. As james said lads, if y'all want me to forward a bit of post on for ya's drop me a PM, as for the postage costs ive seen a few substantial quotes from overseas (most of the parts for the turbo have been second hand from the states) but then again they do have to wrap it up, send it to the coast, put it on a boat (toknaboot?!) and send it to my front door, so fair play to them
  13. Why are you posting on here when you should be out laying down some rubber? congrats mate, still remember the feeling i got from those first two words of my biking adventure, "you've passed" XJ600 is a good bet, fast enough to give you a thrill, forgiving and almost cheaper than walking
  14. Aye, thats not my Donkey mine had renthal bars, bigone exhaust system, K&N style air filter and some dodgey mini indicators, an aftermarket headlight unit and a few other toys
  15. 1) can't comment as ive never had my XJ carbs apart, best thing to do is perform a plug chop (put the bike under load, i.e. give it a blast and when you are at full throttle hit the kill switch and pull the clutch in whilst coasting to the side of the road, remove the spark plug and it should look chocolatey brown if the mixture is correct, if it is black on the tip you require smaller jets, if it is white the mixture is weak and you require larger jets, do not run with a weak mixture as this will damage your bike) 2) that is the purpose of the choke, when starting from cold the engine requires more petrol, the smell you are experiancing is because not all of the petrol is being burnt, once it is up to temperature the choke should be released to restore the fuel/air mixture to its correct ratio
  16. Yamaha Pacifica? O.o i bought a nevada acoustic during my last afghan tour, anyone who played it had to sign it with a permanent marker, by the end of the tour there was no more room for signatures, then it got put in a box to get shipped back to blighty and i havent seen it since
  17. i'd need more than a coffee by the time i get all the way up there! The XJ has been provisionally sold now, a mate of mine frome work is looking after it whilst im away, then when i get back he wants to buy it, gonna miss the old rattler
  18. i aint driving the mini all the way up there!, thats why i bought a sportage aswell, its like a big mobile armchair
  19. heated grips, thermal gloves, handlebar muffs, makes you look like an utter fanny but surrisingly comfortable... need a heated helmet now though
  20. cheers lads, unfortunately i didnt win the lottery, i won £10 on a scratchcard last week when i was out in town but i promptly managed to piss that up the wall, got this at a reduced price because i bought it off the old man, he was never likely to start riding it again, A) his leathers only fit me now and B ) he cant get his belly behind the tank lol The XJ600 has to go, im deploying overseas at the end of the month so im going to start tidying it up now and when i get back in may it will be on ebay, then i need to get the Mini sorted aswell, dont know why i bought the feckin thing tbh i really dont have the time or space for it, if anyone fancies buying my mini let me know .
  21. i would assume number 1 goes to the number one cylinder (left hand side), number 2 goes to the number 2 cylinder, continue the pattern as appropriate
  22. gave it a little test ride around the private roads at home, feels like it could be a bit of a pain to ride long distance though
  23. i second the above, you arent the first this has haened to and you wont be the last, luckily it didnt happen to me on my test but it happened to another student a few weeks before me, rebook, show 'em your balls (not literally, there are laws against that)
