  1. A new bike, that *doesn't* need a metric fucktonne of maintenance just to get it running?
  2. Sounds like you have what us grown-ups call a 'Den'. Besides, I haven't noticed any Page 3 calendars in these supposed 'man' caves yet... Can't have a Man Cave without that calendar.
  3. On the one hand, it's perfectly legal and the rider's choice as to what they choose to wear, or not. Long as they have the helmet on, securely fastened, etc. There have been a few moments I've availed myself of that leniency, even though I almost always fecking well INSIST on sweating my bits off in full-on leathers. On the other hand - Cock!! If in any doubt, watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTPpKuaWaRY Then read these: http://themotolady.com/tagged/brittany-morrow http://www.rockthegear.org/index.php?/testimonials/view/brittany_morrow_the_roadrash_queen/
  4. Forgot to mention - You can try fighting it, with photos and all that, but it will take a while and they might still just use your letter for toilet paper, in the end. Fight if you feel like it and best of luck, but do not expect anything.
  5. Braided lines, all bikes, wherever I can get them!! They even come in different colours now, so all is cool!!
  6. Yeah, but given the attitude of the bikerly neighbour in question, I doubt it's old enough... I think he's just being a cock
  7. This is only general Cruisers, but may be of interest:
  8. Wally - Any progress, mate? >Dont understand the noise obsession myself. It is good fun to give it the revs when you're in the mood, especially if your bike actually has a powerful-sounding, bassy note worth shouting about. 50cc hairdryers, on the other hand... However, when you just wanna get going, slip by Plod unnoticed, etc etc, or just come home late and feel bad about waking everyone at 3am, that is when it's time to hush it down some. Anyone have experience with those tunable baffles? Do they work? Are they that much quieter to be worth it? >Dont agree with loud pipes saving lives either. Not when you're stationary, deep within your garage and well away from the road, no... !! >Dt predates noise rules and the TDR is stock. What are the noise rules, exactly? 99dB(A) seems to be the oft-quoted value for bikes over 175cc... And how they gonna measure that? The Cops have a decibelometer set at 0.5m at 45º from the tail end, with the bike revving at the relevant rpm percentage? Legality doesn't seem to be Wally's problem, so much as being noisy at inappropriate times. Even my FJ running at night sounds fucking loud!!
  9. Having actually seen what you speak of, I'd let her do it too!!
  10. Welcome to the forum, Bru! Plenty of folks who know such stuff here, a few even in SA itself. Whereabouts are you? You still get a lot of DT400 riders out your way?
  11. That's not rambling, that's a proper Intro!! Plenty of Viggie owners here, so you came to the right place.
  12. Well, done my CN stuff. They've made a fortune out of me and their bullshit even extended to trying to mitigate my policy cancellation refund by applying as many admin charges as they could think of.
  13. See, I'm nice to my neighbours and Bill next door knows I'm still building a tool collection, so whenever he hears the garage door open at odd times, he's straight out and asking if there's anything I don't yet have! "36mm wrench? Sure, got three. Back in a tick..." Always try the nice way first!
  14. I strongly suspect she'd have you... that woman is a fecking NUTTER!! Chooses nice bikes to ride, though.
  15. Wotcha mate!! Welcome to the forum!
  16. That's the one! I'm also after the Scrambler from that, as well as a sexbot modelled on Andrea Marcovicci, but I'll have to be very rich for either of them! Lemme know what you think of the flick!
  17. Ah, you'll have to do a bt of detective work... Don't worry - Everything you need to know is in my profile Heavy, unstable and pretty scary even to watch. A friend of mine is one of the two actors who 'rode' it in the film.
  18. Not many people advocate buying second-hand bike tyres as you never knows what you're getting, unless you can inspect them yourself beforehand. Therefore you may find buyers somewhat more scarce than you'd like. However, both tyres are listed here: http://www.jl-mxshop.com/avon-racing-tyres-178-c.asp Personally, I'd expect between a quarter and half of those prices. So in short, yes, they are worth a few quid. Have the buyer collect, if you can, since the packaging and postal costs usually work out higher than what eBay allow for. I love buying on eBay but fecking hate selling, for that exact reason!!
  19. You could possibly avoid drilling if you use the baffles above and weld the back ends just inside the rims of your pipes. I doubt it'd be that stable, so you'd possibly need a large supporting washer at the front end, or something. Not my area of specialty, really - I run straight-throughs with the removabale baffles removed. But then, this is only temporary until you can afford new slip-ons, right?
  20. ASK... Ask nicely. If he gets arsey, THEN follow Noisy's instructions!! Some riders are just cocks, though. There's a Harley bloke round the corner from my mechanic, who revs the nuts of his bike every time he goes past, just because there are bikes outside his place and he has something he thinks is worth proving. Cock.
  21. Fazer-Thou, no idea. But if it's anything like the Fazer 600, it's a wicked fun bike, very reliable if looked after, very popular and loved by all its owners. Good for riders of all sizes, easily lowered if you're short, comfy enough for all types of ride and damn well worth the money!!
  22. Where in the UK are you? I live out in the countryside, where the only real noises are sheep, ducks, horses, geese, frogs, bats, owls, tweety birds, a few cars (despite living on a 10,000 vehicles-per-day road) and the occasional train or tractor. The farmer out the back sometimes works the fields at 2-3am and trundles around in his tractor, with the ma-HU-ssive headlights. It's generally so quiet we can hear the M4 from several miles away. The noisiest thing around is my Dragstar, even with the baffles in. I try and arrive home early, but if I have to do it late I clutch-in or keep the revs low for a good few hundred yards pre-approach. Similarly, I'll push the bike a ways and start it as far from the house as I can, but leave as late as possible (I start work at 10 on a normal day). Those who live more than five minutes walk away can fuck off. Those within get my utmost courtesy and I always apologise when I see them. Conversely, they always say I don't wake them and they never hear me come home late. As a fellow biker and being able to cut through any bullshit - When dealing with the noisy bastard, ask him to be considerate (mentioning those with "young kids trying to sleep" helps) and keep the noisy stuff outside of 10pm to 7am. That's almost the same hours as when you're not supposed to sound your horn anyway and who knows - You might make friends!! If he's a proper cock, come back here and we'll see what we can figure out!!
  23. Oh, I know - I have all of them. But even though the bike itself is a piece of shit with near-suicidal handling and blatantly fake armaments, the film it's from is very special to me. Hence spending the hypothetical fortune to acquire one rather than a more practical ride. It's one that'd just sit in my 'bike museum', being drooled over!! Rumour has it these bikes were knocked together one afternoon by a group of HAs down the road from the Cali film studio... and were so dangerous to ride that only the stuntmen were allowed!
  24. Oh? And why is that, then? Why should we know absolutely everything and why should we be held accountable for supplying information that you are just too fucking lazy to spend 5 seconds Googling yourself? Well if that's your attitude, I certainly won't bother reading any more of yours... You're just not that important here. Why would you ask on YOC, when you can just go to Yamaha direct where all the answers *will* be? We are not a fucking free helpdesk and basic trivia like that is quicker to Google than posting here and awaiting a response. As is, you didn't bother and assumed instead, thus throwing an ignorant opinion around and looking like a complete dickhead. Guess what - You *can* go to Google and get every answer, pretty much. Search for a service/owners manual or something and there's almost everything you'd want to know. Since none of us are likely to do that for you, given your attitude, I suggest you go learn how. More like, "How lazy are you, asking us when the answer is a few clicks away?". In concurrence with Tout's most eloquent response above - Fuck off and troll elsewhere, pretty much...
