Well, so far as I can make out, they all have "R6" or "R6S" writ upon them in exciting, dynamic lettering... Some have it on the front fairing also, some just on the back bit, but every pic I looked at has it writ there.

Decent, proper paint jobs usually cost a good few hundred. In addition, many places will want you to strip the bike down and supply just the bits you want painted. They won't take responsibility for disassembly/reassembly.

Is there really that much of a difference between the two? Does it only come down to 0-60 in 5.4 seconds as opposed to 5.6, or something? Well, if your heart is set on it, all I can say is "Take it easy and don't crash". I only have 40HP on my 650 and that is still plenty enough to get me into serious shit...

Heya Chezz!! Not in the slightest. I always suggest whatever is most suitable. I'm a Cruiser fan and I always advocate trying one of those at some point. The riding style is very different and presents some unique challenges and experiences. That said, I'm also considering an ex-military Harley MT350, an old 1300 Honda Pan and a Suzuki G-Strider (when they're cheap enough). Depends entirely on what model you have and what needs maintaining. Sports bikes, especially Track ones, can go through tyres every 3,000 miles. I replaced mine for the first time in 19,000 last year.

Easiest way to tell the difference... One says "R6" on it, the other says "R6-S"!! By all accounts, there's not much difference between the two, actually. Both are fast, racy and sporty. The S is the Street version, whereas the R6 is designed with the Track in mind. The latter will get up to speed a microsecond faster and that's about it. Slight differences with forks, frame shape and so on, but for the most part they are the same bike (hence each being called an R6). R6-S R6 If you google "R6 vs R6s" or "difference between R6 and R6s", there's a whole host of opinions on R6 blogs, R6 forums, R6 porn sites and so on, most of whom are arguing about details so seemingly minute that you'd only see them if you use a microscope on the cellular level!!

You'll probably have to take half the bike apart. Or, you can get an Auto Lockie to impression the lock and cut you a set of keys to fit. If you live near me and if you have a metal file and a spare hacksaw blade, I could do it for you. It really is that cheap and simple.

I might have to get this done as a sticky, since everyone keeps asking about it... Your cheapest option will be a Locksmith. Go through the Yellow Pages and find a small, independant one who specialises in Auto-Locksmithing (ie vehicles). They can cut sets of keys to fit existing locks, re-pin locks and even re-code electronic ones. They must also manage this for a lower price than buying new locksets, because they'd otherwise be out of business. Yamaha will charge you a fortune for new keys.

Check your oil level and that your clutch cable is adjusted properly. I seem to vaguely recall similar problems with my own 125 Drag, although it went away as I got better at riding.

It may be cheaper than buying one, but it's a lot of faffing about and I don't trust my own workmanship when it comes to something that might set me on fire at 90mph!!

Might just be the dynamics of the bike. Usually I scrape my 650 pegs when I go into a corner too fast... Sometimes though, I am just showing off my slow control

I'm just curious as to teh horn assembly thing you have there. Quietening pipes... Might be possible if you can open up the mufflers (or what passes for mufflers) at the back. You can get stuff to put in there, like extra baffles, wire wool etc. Not something I'm too familiar with myself, but it might be possible depending on your model of pipes. Or just get a set of standard ones and put them on.

BTW - Nice bike!! Lots of fancy little accessories, there. Any chance of a close-up pic of the front, just behind the forks?

You have a pair of [insert brand] slash-cut pipes fitted. They have minimal baffles fitted and yes, they are supposed to be noisy - That's why people get them. My girlfriend has similar ones, for that very reason. They sound nice (like a Spitfire), but they're not for me. Yours are quite nice, acyually - They have heat-shields on the pipes where your legs might touch. Not all custom pipes have those... I still have the factory standard pipes on mine and they're beautifully quiet. Never any complaints from my neighbours when I roll home at all hours of the night.. and I have asked!! Standard pipes can be found on eBay and the like, brand new for £150 or less.
