I feel yer pain Pat! Poor wee Honda thinks Ive forgotten about it! In meantime, my new job means I've resorted to travelling on something called a 'bus'. Weird contraption, don't think I like it....

Did you see the R6 that they've had painted? Hints of the anniversary colours about it with black areas - very nice indeed! Though salesman did inform me that a limited edition is coming out in full anniversary livery.... Lol
  3. I can imagine how things are going to proceed from here.....

Hey folks! Was in Belfast recently, had some time to kill so headed to local bike dealer. Oh my god. Think I need to sell a kidney cos I've seen so many nice new toys it's crazy. Crafty bugger salesman saw me drooling over new Yams & homed in like a heat-seeker! Had a gorgeous new White R1 & a nice black/White R6 sitting, the bugger is trying to tempt me with test rides. Why do we torture ourselves!! I should've went to B&Q instead.

Agree that some comments are def from muppets. Surely the point of bike customising is to reflect the owners personal tastes - so why criticise the builders choices?? Otherwise all the modified bikes would just have the same off-the-shelf bits on them all!

Scary thing is foamy, I was having my daily trawl through gumtree & there's one locally 'running but in need of tlc' Prob means it's a total shed - but perhaps it's an omen.....
  9. Welcome! Get some pics up of your bikes!

Yip, it's def the future! I'll keep my eyes out for a future project, got list of spare time cos got made redundant last week. Something that made this ride even better was that the bike had just been setup by a local road racing legend, and I finally got to meet him too!! Tomorrow is gonna pale in comparison to today...

Well, had my first ever run on an RD today & I didn't want to give it back! It's a world apart from what I'm used to but loved every minute. But don't think my budget would stretch to buy this (even if it were for sale, but it def isn't) It was the Roberts replica I've mentioned before, less than 8k on the clock, immaculate condition. But I def got a new addiction - I want an RD!!

  14. Oh I'm wise enough to hold onto it alright. Must admit I love the twin. Looks good, sounds good, smooth enough to cruise on yet I've also embarrassed manys an accountant in their Porsche!! Been quite reliable so far too which was the main thing as I commute every day on it. Was good value at the price I paid too I'm headed out later today with my dad & a bike club. It's an event my dad arranges each year, meant to be for pre-1945 bikes, I go to help marshall. Dad will be on the Velocette (great bike to ride!)
  15. Thought I'd share a kinda happy ending to this tale. Found a breaker with a starter, though it did mean a drive to Dublin. €55 later & I have a working starter complete with warranty!
  16. Lol, makes me kinda miss the Fizzer & it's cheap spares compared to the Honda! Mind you, I've done 10 times more mileage in a year on the Honda than i covered in 2 years on the Yams....
  17. Been having few starter motor issues recently. While an auto-spark friend tries to repair my starter, I phoned my local Honda agent to price a replacement. I nearly choked when I was quoted £615+vat = £738 !!! Needless to say I passed. That's a mental price.

There's a guy in Ballygowan who breaks bikes. Normally has a few Tyres around, good condition & reasonably priced

The attitude is a big problem as you all say. Heard a 16 year old interviewed on radio today, admitted they were going looting. Their attitude was that if they're caught, it'd be their first offense & the law/courts wouldn't touch them! Lovely.
