Just like the view new content page and the associated filters already part of the forum then. Like i said. An app to do whats already there.
  2. Just make sure. Then make sure again that your not falling into the trap that killed many 350's. If you run em lean you get loads more go. Costs you engine life in spades though. Keep a close eye on temperatures and plug condition.

    Tapatalk App

I tried it but you can leave several internet tabs running with modern smartphones. It was an app that did what my phone already does.
  4. The way that works Andy is the battery capacity is shown by in this case 40A, 7AH. What it is saying is 40A cranking capacity. Its continuous load is 7Ah ie 7 amps per hour. This doesen't mean it would be flat in 6 hours running 7A. It would be 'flat' long before that (actually at around 80% capacity serious damage is done, under 60% is critical). What it is saying is that the battery can continuously deliver 7A per hour, that is intended to work with a charging system putting approximately that back. The 45A battery is capable of supplying more as cranking output but will be at a disadvantage in normal running. 4A may well be fine for this time of year but it wont last, it will work but as I said it wont last. Normal daylight will be engine, ? Brake light 21w Sometimes indicators 42w Total maybe 70W with some engine load. Or 6A Peak daytime. Evening, as above but with what? 35w in the headlight that's 3A plus 5 for the tail and prob another 5 for the idiot lights/dials that's another amp with load. So your night time peak could be 10A certainly a continuous 5 or 6 allowing for losses can be expected. Explains the 7Ah.
  5. The most important part of a 2t is the exhausts, sealing of said exhausts is just as important. Even small leaks cause problems. Stay with the std exhausts unless you have some quality pipes to change them for, your LC will love you for it.
  6. Nah. Basically gave the details to which bits will bypass everything. Locks and all to start your bike. Not hard to figure out but we dont want to give it away in open forum.
  7. Your going to get from 45hp to 60+ with a set of pipes, er. No. With the proper tuning they may well be capable of moving enough gas to allow the engine to make 60hp.
  8. Complete truth with my dad at the time. Neighbour called round our house moaning that her car was running badly. When my dad road tested the car (with me) it ran fine. She got back in and then pulled the choke knob (remember them) out to hang her purse.
  9. Er? What you just said makes no sense, glad its working tho.
  10. Welcome, respect for changing your own tyres on an fj, how do you balance them?
  11. Not state the obvious but something is off. I have been guilty of missing the obvious same as ANY regular poster on here. If you have the carbs 100%. Same with the ig, ie 100%. If you are certain they are ok then you should be looking to the mechanicals. Compression, valve clearances etc. Still wouldnt discount something carb.
  12. You need to introduce yourself properly. Post is odd too. Why buy a cdi knowing it to be a 6wire without knowing what the 6 wire refers too. Is there a red wire coming from the stator?
  13. Sorry but any body who sounds so much like Fozzy bear, from the muppets cannot be taken seriously
  14. Why use thicker oil, will make no difference to the forks on a DT. The difference you feel will be from it just being new oil.
  15. Well, fowlers were there usual best, parts ordered yesterday at 12, arrived today at just after 10. 10/10. Lots of lovely Yamaha packets. Mitaka, well there in the system, despatched Tuesday by cart horse I think. Everything is cleaned up ready to go, will paint the barrels after their bored and do the head at the same time. Other than that till I get the pistons I'm stuck.
  16. ta, ill have a look later. might get shot down spending another 35 quid after chucking 300+ at the tdr out of the blue. Bit low on brownie points.

    Nuts and such.

Just a wondering where you folk get your fastners from these days. Bought some for the DT off the interweb but they have disappeared now. It was a generic 'dip' box of mixed stuff for 30 odd quid. Now run out. Some of the stuff on the top end of the tdr, esp the stuff between the cyl has got a bit 'rural' looking. Couple took the usual 'imagination' to remove. So any pointers for some allen headed stainless stuff. ta
  18. Nope. Like I said, Monday to Friday is work, 6 till some time between 7 and 9 if I get home at all, not to mention I have no idea where im going and with what till I get my paperwork first thing in the morning. Planning for ANYTHING weeknights is a dead loss.
  19. Was talking to a fellow from your lot jose. He drives car transporters. If I even had the remotest chance of getting to even 1 night I could pop in but the days I get home before 7 are very rare. Im only in Bugbrooke, if you have any local weekend stuff give me a shout.
  20. As said by slice, intro's help. Carbs would be where I started looking too, more to if they are opening fully. Could there be a resrictor kit in place. Generally this is in the form of stoppers of some kind in the carb top that stops the carb slide from reaching full throttle. Just that 7000rpm is just over where the party starts, so if it were jets I would expect it to pop and bang or have plugs dripping with fuel. Either way it would not run well under 7k. Just a silly one, tried it with the air filter out?

    Petrol tank

If you take the tank mounts off the original bike too then yes, don't see why not. Bit of welding but nothing drastic. It looking like you imagine, dunno? Otherwise very unlikely. The tank has to fit round everything else, the differences between the 550 and the 600 are far from subtle.
  22. Its the first sunny days, late March early April. The air is still ice cold but there is enough sun to warm the roads and yourself. And OP, you are nicely tuned into your bike to feel it like that but it was trying to tell you you had done something wrong. Same as mine did. Before it went pop.
  23. Worth EVERY penny, when that needle hits 6k its like being strapped on the back of the enterprise. Yeah a FZ6 will spank it these days, but offer me the keys to both and its the stroker all day long. They feel alive and hungry, they want to go. Not passive and obedient.
