  1. That's poxy luck.... Had that as a kid on an epic scale. Really really bad. Still got the scars. Good news is my chances of anything related like mumps is near zero.
  2. Ultrasonic cleaning is not perfect either, compressed air and some fine copper wire (wont hurt the brass or ally) is better.
  3. I know its a 4 stroke, i prefer 2 strokes. My bucket list has a vmax on it but that's the only 4 stroke i would buy. And have permission if i find one i like, (Stock, Full power, Vvgc, not black, with under 15k (under 10 even better) on the clock hint) that isn't a train ride away. They behave like 2 strokes. And i have wanted one as much as the TDR, well nearly.

    Electrics query!

    When fitting led's, don't PANiC (P)ositive(A)node(N)egative(C)athode
  5. You have had the bike 2 weeks, how long have you actually been riding? A 125 is built to be abused, if it could not handle some ham fisted gearchanges or some throttle abuse it wouldn't last 2 minutes in the hands of a new rider. You wont harm it with some ham fisted throttle use. Pin it on the stand, yeah that may but you would not believe what those 125 twins will take abuse wise. As long as its got good oil. Hell so long as its got oil......
  6. That's the thing, jimmy, you can say you will try. If you make it, you make it. It was only me and Finnerez at Squires on the Friday, frankly it was such a shit show we were all set to extend the ride by packing up Sat morning and heading further on to wherever we ended up. As it was Tommy turned up with Kev so it was all to the good. There will be enough of the regulars. Try and make it, even if its only for the day.
  7. Wild horses wont keep me away. Im tight though so im in a tent. Lumpy bed in a b+b for 60 or 70 quid or another weekend on the bike. Choice is easy.
  8. Which part of Northampton. Im out on the 45 near Heygates.

They can sometimes allow power across to the other indicators. You may find you have 4 way flashers. Or depending on how the fjr is wired you may find the rears sulk. May be nothing too.
  10. Had one on my old LC, you will curse the small amount of adjustment. Watch the chain on the bottom brace too. Looks nice though, bought your shares in autosol yet....
  11. No it wont spin freely like a wheel. It should feel really smoth. Turning easily.
  12. What. Like my dad when he decided to use my 50 to nip into town while i was sleeping off the Friday night. He may have been expecting 30mph? Just not in 3rd........ Got me a bit of a....... quiet pat on the back lol.
  13. Provided the numbers are represented right, if! both sizes are :- inflated height/rim width/ wheel rim diameter. If so, yes the tyre will fit. Ass covering time. Could affect insurance and the spedo reading, not to mention handling may be affected by the taller tyre.
  14. At we talking microns or just going up a bearing size? Where did the c3 question come from, is it a quirky size bearing, of on a st 6202 would be 15/35. Some of the TDR people have had 3mm spacers made to take up the 3mm gap (stock tzr front spindle is 12mm uses a 12/32 wheelbearing (6201) the TDR uses the 15/35 6202. What are the sizes of each wheel bearing? Actual measure, the actual bearing number, not intrnet...
  15. Nope, its bolted in the same as any other swing arm with a spindle.
  16. Bet he don't want paying in imperial.....
  17. Nope, its powder coat. Chances are its laid on a base coat and that bstd reacts. Least it has done with the 2 bikes i have stripped and re done. You ideally need to baremetal the sw arm and work up. Will give a finish worth the effort though.
  18. Why would they be any different to the wheel bearings in the tdm. Got to admit the thought of expansion from heat never even entered my head when i got the bearings for the Aprilia wheels in the TDR. What do you have to change to fit the wheel, must be close to a straight swap.
  19. Think that's more to avoid college blow outs and stag parties, we could be sneaky and book in groups of 3 then by chance find by amazing luck we all picked the same camp.....

Never double post, it really confuses the replies.
  21. Brave man, well done. It will certainly fit....... In the end. Knowing how unchanged the YBR and how lazy Yamaha are you may well get away with swapping over the electrics and a bit of fiddling.
  22. That's probably the only weekend I'm stuffed. Hiring a MK2 Jag for the weekend, wedding pressie for my sister (cos she is tight as) officially but it has made my parents year as dad can go crazy with pics and mum will be run about in a car 'fit for getting married in'.
  23. Up to you lot but thats the weekend my sister is getting married. So if thats the choice im def out of that one.
  24. Don't suppose you have checked out what the bike is worth as is. WR's get batterd anyway, you may not save the cost of the paint and the hassle in what you make extra. Unless you make a decent job of it the tart up job may make the bike worth less.
