There are 2 things that kill 2 strokes. Cheap oil and not being used properly. I dont mean ragging them to death either. Ridden at 3/4 revs on good throttle and you could get 20 maybe even 25k from a healthy 2stroke. Then its only a quicky top end rebuild. Comparing that to servicing all that crap on the top of a plodder prob comes out in the smokies favour. Chugging round off power or riding it like a racer will kill em stone dead though.

Ok. Not really an into as such :-). You say fully rebuilt. By who, when ? Are the important questions. Follow that with whats your skill level with the spanners. And is this your first bike. Gut feeling is carb. If that pv is pegged wide open it should be horrible to ride. But if someone has it backwards or its still on the stock 200main it will run out of puff at around 7k. More than one small issue spoiling a good bike i think. Be interesting to know what main jet is in there and what pipe it has. Pics would be even better.... Oh and welcome...

Shark. I have one of the latest flips and its kinA. Only issue for you would be noise. But there std stuff is screwed together ok too. Glasses frendly too.

Er... But..... You do know how to ride a bike and how a bike gearbox works? Cos im really not sure. From the very first trip on my lil ol 50cc back in the 80's I very quickly learned that without the motor running the gearbox doesent shift. Rock the bike for and aft as your hitting the lever might help but just pulling the clutch and moving the lever will do exactly what you have. To be honest the noises from the box trying to shift sound nice and positive. It is also a part of any old yamaha that is all but bomb proof. The only weak issue being the output bearing as it gets chaing gunk in it in the end when the seal gets neglected. Get it running and it will be fine. I would be more concerned with crank seals first.

In a dt frame. 2 exp chambers mounted up and over each side. "Wow an early aircooled tdr". Lol Hah i know its daft but i may just do it one day....

Petrol is petrol. Carbs got gunked with the old stuff. Tanks rotted with the old stuff. There isnt enough to worry about on most bikes. THIS is worrying. My Range rover. Has an in tank fuel pump. Plastic tank and lines. Plastic injectors with lots of o rings fitted to the msnifold with yet more rubbers. Any of that ethanol proof........ Nope. I have another injector to change thats leaking and have already done the fuel pump and tank. Gonna make a lot of cars scrap......

I still dont see the benefits unless i just have a good phone. I can have up to 8 tabs running at any one time. Never needed more than a few and thats when doing photos and such with photobucket. Yoc and maybe a couple of parts sites too. I leave YOC my Tff (tropical fish) and my rc stuff bookmarked and there on as soon as i hit the button(network accepted of course). I might see what the hype is and have a look. Might help have a cynics opinion lol.

Then its the wrong spindle. Personally in this instance i would look for another. Engine fails, you stop. Electrics fail you stop. Wheel spindle fails then crashing painfully is very high on the party list. Some things i will happily bodge. Wheel spindle isnt one of em.

Without the hole. That spindle should have 2 nuts. One thick one that actually tightens things up and a thinner lock nut you tighten against the first.

If the guys in the garage could fix it cheap and easy they would then they would ask more money. Walk away there are plenty of bikes out there. If your buying youf first avoid buying work. Spending a tiny bit more will save a lot. A bad first bike could put you right off.

Dont know how it can be easier.

You post in the new members area and just say a littleabout yourself. People never realise that this forum covers the pretty much all the main land masses worldwide. So saying where you are. What your bike is and your skill level make a big difference. For yours. My guess is your battery is goosed.

The clutch is nothing like a car. It certainly cant explode or pop. But if left the plates can stick quite solidly together. Definitely worth inspecting before you shell out for new parts.

So long as Marques doesent turn into a crash test dummy like so many do. Thats what made rossi good. Now lorenzo. They nearly always finish. If they do chuck it away its not for something daft.

Thats just it at that track there is a very fine coating of sand. Similar thing at laguna seca. If he had ran wide he would have crashed. He took the better option.
